Command a squad of up to 20 Space Marines and pursue the evil Chaos horde though the Warhammer 40,000 universe! CHAOS GATE is squad-level, turn-based tactical action that pits you against Chaos Lord Zymran, in an attempt unravel the mystery of an ancient relic.

Your command begins with a choice: pursue the game plot immediately or take on any number of random missions to gain experience and power for your squad. Whichever you choose, prepare for the unexpected – and tactical combat that’s utterly out of this world!

As SSI’s second entry in the Warhammer 40,000 universe, Chaos Gate marries the lore of the 40,000 universe with the strategic depth of an SSI game and creates an engaging experience that further glorifies the Emperor and the Adeptus Astartes’ Legacy.




  • Battle Chaos Space Marine forces and their daemonic allies across the galaxy in a Campaign of 15 linked scenarios or explore randomly generated missions to gain power for your Ultramarine troops.
  • Create and customize a squad from a Space Marine contingent of 50 different soldiers, each with unique characteristics and capabilities - including Terminators, Assault Marines and Devastator Squads.
  • Build custom missions with the extremely flexible Mission Editor.
  • Command the vehicles of the Warhammer 40,000 universe: Predator tanks, Rhino APCs, Land Speeders and Dreadnoughts.

Solid, fun old style w40k

I recently saw that this game was receiving the preservation treatment and saw all the patching it received. In the past it was unplayable on W10, but right now its all there and its playable with all his glory: the cheesiness, the gore, the action, the old bolters... I recommend it to all fans of squad turn based tactics game just for the atmopshere alone. Maybe for the new fans of the universe might not be too much appealing, but for us that we are following the game quite a while ago its interesting where the roots of this fun hobby begin.

warhammer 40k chaos gate

seems to function just like the disk copies I loved. Still trying to win the game with no casualties. The superhero level does not save, so is subject to computer error. The level right below that plays the same skill level, but you can backup the game in the middle. Too bad this didn't become more of a franchise with other enemy races.
