Welcome to the world of darkness
The game's atmosphere is even more intense than the first (Coteries of New York). And although it's still an introduction to the world of Vampire: The Masquerade, I enjoyed rediscovering it in a more metaphysical way, particularly with the Lasombra clan. Unfortunately, the ending is a little perplexing, with a rather classic conclusion that makes the plot fall flat. Like the first game, it's only worth recommending if you can get it cheaply (it's still a short visual novel and you love or want to discover the world of Vampire la mascarade.

Visual novel without gameplay
It is visual novel without gameplay. Just click next text. If you buy a comics you can pick a page, also graphic and plot will be better. Not much to talk about as player have no agency in this. Warewolf or Coteries are a bit better. You can pick options there, but not here.

Okay game - too bad it won't open
I've played both this and Coteries before. At least, my history in GOG Galaxy shows I have. I don't remember much about it. However, I purchased the last in the series during a recent sale & thought I'd replay Shadows to refresh my memory. It wouldn't open with Galaxy. It wouldn't open if I manually installed. The title pages play out, then a very small graphic of the game flashes on screen, and it crashes back to desktop. I have repaired files. I've turned off my Virus protection. I've denoted the game as protected. No idea what to do. Apparently it ran at one time (even if I can't remember it). GOG's "help" pages are no help whatsoever. So I'll give it 2 stars. Good luck to anyone else trying to run this game on Win 11.

Vampire as it's meant to be.
This is the better of the VTM Chronicle stories. A haunting score and actually decent writing.
