Vampire®: The Masquerade - Bloodlines™

I liked this game years ago but the game has issues. The game has a dark (goth) atmosphere, mostly achieved by the music. The writing is good for a story and characters are mostly interesting. But the atmosphere is mostly destroyed by technical limitations. The outdated graphics are not even the biggst problem, more annoying are the extremely small levels, seperated by loading screens. Everything feels gamey and after the first playthrough samey. The story progresses quite linear despite different clans and skills. And the bad combat and becomes a bigger part in the later stage of the game. As a result this game lost it's replay value for me, but it might still be interesting for new players.

Cons: Combat is horrible, stealth is ok, graphics are a little dated. Pros: The story is interesting, surprising, voice acting is better than in a cojima game.

This game is a truly amazing game. It sets out an amazing and intriguing vampire underworld for you to become involved in with your actions and choices effecting your standing with factions throughout it. This game was never technically finished (this version comes with a patch that adds a huge amount of missing content) but still holds up as one of the finest RPGs i've ever played. I would love to see a sequel of this game made now to see just how much they could add.

I just recently completed the game, and its amazing. The level of depth in this game is incredible and unlike any new triple A games. The dev's pashion for this really springs out of every corner of it. Nothing really compares to it. Sure games like Skyrim are much huger, but they dont have the level of care and fun jampacked into this games small towns. One factor is the fact that the towns are small, it makes the towns to filled with fun stuff that you'll never be bored. Im unsure if i can put into words the love i have for this game, and the love the devs put in it. That said, its from 2004, so the graphics are somewhat dated, this is mostly made good by reshade though. It also has some bugs. Anyway, buy this game, its now one of my favorite games ever.
