Valhalla Hills

In Valhalla Hills, you control some vikings and land on different islands where you will need to complete certain objectives in order to go through the island portal to the next area. You harvest resources, build lumber mills, houses, barracks and all that good stuff. However the game feels very shallow, and doesn't seem like there is much depth to the gameplay and yet there appears to be virtually no tutorial to explain how to do certain tasks, for example you build houses for your Vikings to sleep in and yet they never go in them and sleep outside. Personally I found the game boring which I am surprised about as this game is made by the same people who made the Settler's games which were for the most part...great. I would only buy this if it was on a heavy discount.

So, while this game is not an epic strategy game, it's also priced right where it belongs. And that's not a bad thing. I got frustrated with not being able to see behind some stuff, because you can't rotate the camera very far in either direction, but its still fun as heck to start with nothing, chop down trees and mine ore, build a village and a militia, and then go take over an island. Each level is more difficult than the last, and there's always something new about each level that you have to overcome. While I don't know that I'd call it an intelligent game, its not just a repeat of what I've played before. And, let's be honest, for $7.00, you could do way worse. The game makers know they didn't build an epic game, just a fun little strategy game that's well worth your time for such a bottom-dollar price. If you liked games like StarCraft, Valhalla Hills is right up your alley.

I played it al long time and see still the beauty of this game as factinacting but i belive it has a lot of potencial and can blossem like a volcano to the sky

A quiet, pleasant game similar to Settlers, but with less emphasis on combat. We develop our charming Viking village towards the portal, fight the guards or make a material offering to the gods and move on to another, randomly generated island, where we do exactly the same. There is no campaign here, and the only game mode is playing a succession of random levels without end. It looks and sounds really nice, so it's perfect for short sessions of relaxation.
