Pretty awesome
When you get caught it's game over which is really cool. Also, hack a bank, transfer funds to your account, and remove all traces. Then buy the best parts and rule the world!

Is it any chance to download linux installer of this gr8 game? I wanted to play it under Linux machine. It works in WINE, but Uplink can be runnable in Linux too. Thanks for answer ;)

Terrible, cheap garbage
This is one of those games that allows you to unknowingly screw yourself over and doesn't bother to reveal it until hours later. You'll hack a server, delete some files, delete the logs. You'll be pretty sure you broke the chain back to you when you deleted the logs from another server you bounced through. And then, five hours (in real time) later the black screen shows up saying you've been caught. And you have to start all over again from square one. Just awful. Awful garbage. It might be for some people. It is not for people who mind having hours of their time completely wasted. For me, I was so angry I don't think I could see straight. The first few hours seemed so promising, and every hour after that made me hate this game to the depths of my soul. It doesn't even have the courtesy to tell you what, specifically, led to you being caught. It only tells you what server you were traced from. I cannot express how much I hate this style of "haha, you lost because of something you did literal hours ago, but you don't get to know what it was :)" that makes this game what it is. Or how you'll think you have a plan, and then find you can't access a server you thought you'd be able to. Etc.
