  • Unpack a home — from a single bedroom to an entire house
  • Meditative gameplay with no timers, meters or scores
  • Explore domestic environments with all their nooks and crannies while you stack plates, hang towels, and arrange bookshelves
  • Discover a character's story through the items that come with her to each new home (and the items that get left behind)
  • Soundtrack by BAFTA award-winning composer and audio director Jeff van Dyck

Cute relaxing game

What a cute game. The design and music and gameplay as a whole are chill and enjoyable. The gameplay is exactly what it seems, you unpack items from boxes and find place for them around the protagonist's home as she moves to different places. There isn't much restriction with that, although a few items can only be put in specific shelves (the game will highlight those in red once all boxes in that level are unpacked). There are one or two things in each level that can be frustrating to place correctly. Story-wise, you get to discover the protagonist's interests, relationships, and what's going on in her life through the things she owns. Some items from her past stay, some disappear. There's so much attention to detail, for example the movies you unpack may seem familiar, or you watch mugs get broken and replaced, things like that. You can also interact with some items, but that's more for a fun effect than for the story. It's definitely an interesting form of storytelling that I haven't seen before and I thoroughly enjoyed it. My only complaint is that the game is pretty short, I finished it in one afternoon. It was 6 levels in total which have more rooms as the game progresses. For the price I expected a bit more. I also don't think I'll replay the game again any time soon, maybe an achievement hunter could to get all the stickers, but for me it was more about the story. I think it's worth getting the game, especially if you just want something nice, a little bit emotional, but overall relaxing, and if it looks like the gameplay is up your alley.

Fun and very relaxing, but too short.

I just bought this game cause it looked like a peaceful type of puzzle game. It was that and more for me, but way too short. I beat it in one sitting. I thought that once you go through the first story there would be other stories to go through. There was not. You can play through again to unlock additional trophies, and I will try to see if the game is different, But for the price, it is way too short, it definately needs additional content.

Unreasonably short

This game is solid, I had a really good time, but then it ended...like really fast. I was delibrately taking my time with the game to really soak it all in and enjoy it, but I still finished in less than 4 hrs. If I was playing at my normal pace for games, I might have finished around the 2 hr mark which I believe to be absolutely unreasonable for a $20 game. I've played many games around this price point I usually expect, at the bare minimum, 10hrs, and with other smaller indie puzzle games, I've logged over 100 hrs. THE MAIN PROBLEM: I feel like with a game like this, you could've had mod support, community made levels, and dlc, but they chose to include none of this and the developers seen to not be planning anything for the future. I really want to like this game, but with a puzzle game being this short and with so little features, I can't in good concience recommend this game to anyone. If any updates fix my issues I've listed, I will come back and change my review.

Original idea with a couple rough edges

The game does what it sets out to do well - it conveys a relatable, poetic visual story through gameplay of puzzling together personal effects of a lifetime on the move; my gripe is about some design choices which, in my playing of the game, took something away from the whole experience. A technical choice regarding the pixel graphics, which is cool when done well (it is done very well here) but clearly is a low-budget option that also comes with the downside of keeping the camera angle still - and that's where it hurts gameplay, on a few occasions where objects get hidden behind scene elements because the perspective view is static. A design choice of following one character, which adds to the emotional interest but makes the game very short. Perhaps the creators will add DLCs for other characters one day; It's hard to critique this point because there's only so many times one active person can move out and into places in her life, and yet... gameplay-wise it curtails the experience too much. Finally, the asking price, which in light of the previous points as well as the fact the game offers no replayability whatsoever (except for a couple achievements you can always go back for) makes it hard for me to recommend the game. I know I'm cheap, but I usually don't mind paying extra for a game that I can come back to, but this one can be exhausted in a sitting if you want to, without much trouble. If you're intrigued by the theme and mechanic- as I was - and think you can overlook my caveats, you'll probably enjoy this game enough if only for a few hours.
