Unmechanical: Extended

Puzzle games normally frustrate the *(^% out of me......I get them for my wife to play....normally I go through a few levels....get annoyed and uninstall.....But Unmechanical is just awesome.......it really surprised me how fun it is to play. Controls are simple and the graphics I think are quite appealing. This game is usually my have a coffee/beer after work and wind down game!

Addictive. It seemed a bit short but maybe the fact that it was hard to stop playing it just made it seem so. Definitely a MUST buy.

This game is disappointing because it is fun, charming & beautiful but extremely short. At the end, you will want more. The puzzles are fun but relatively easy. Later puzzles tend to be obscure, i.e. it is hard to understand what needs to be done. The “story” unfolds nicely as you progress. There is no text, no speech, nothing explicitly stated. Yet your journey definitely tells a story. If the game was twice as long, I would give it four stars. If it was longer, I would rate it five stars. But being as short as it is, to me this is rather an appetizer, a mini-game.

I have been told the unreal engine is a work of wonder and how very powerful it is. This game shows it off very very well. At it's lowest level it's a 2d Side scroller game, however the artwork and engine make it a work of Art. The controls are simplistic, and all the puzzles are pretty much figure it out yourself (or tinker with it until it works). The game isn't really that long; Still in my opinion it's a must have.

Unmechanical provides highly rewarding and inventive gameplay. The world is fully imagined and beautiful. It lends itself to replay. But it's just too short. Just as I felt I was getting a grip on the storyline, and as I was most immersed in the game, it ended. This does avoid the pitfall of making a game too long, but a 5-star game developer knows how to balance length and interest. This was incredibly close to 5 stars, but there should be more. More characterization, more story, more gameplay, more crazy puzzling.
