The pictures of the sale page look decent for an over twenty year old fighting game. Unfortunately the controls are terrible. If you simply want to enjoy a good game, buy something else. Buy for Nostalgia-reasons only!
I bought Ultimate Body Blows because I'm a sucker for old fighters and I had never experienced Amiga gaming. Well, this wasn't a good start :P The game is awful and almost unplayable. How come it seems to be well liked among reviewers/enthusiasts? Controls are horrible, gameplay is horrible, AI is horrible. I just wasted $6, I could have bought Street Fighter Alpha 2 (which is one of my favorite 2D fighters of all time, wouldn't mind having it on PC now that I think about it). I was hoping for a mediocre Street Fighter clone, no such luck. I just don't see myself getting any enjoyment from this and I doubt I'll ever play it again.
I seen very bad reviews, but don't expect that!
From graphic and art perspective is generic but enjoyable game.
Army of warriors you have, true that is. But not all of them are equaly.
But this isn't matter they all gona smash you into the ground!
Regardless of your skill or experinces on other tournaments, you gona lose
and that not be yours foult.
So do what wise men do, run with your moneys away.
It was never the best fighting game, but Body Blows certainly made an impact.
However, the controls are designed for a joystick with one button. It's very hard to get the moves right with a gamepad.
I was never very good at this game, but I managed to win once in a while. Now on the PC with a gamepad it's even worse. So I tried the digital Speedlink Competition joystick and that works a lot better.
After that I tried an arcade stick, that works as well. Using one of these changes the whole experience.
