Tyrian 2000

I've played Tyrian as a boy and as an adult and enjoyed it a lot. It's also great that it includes a 2-player option on one computer (though only in "arcade" mode without the out-of-mission upgrades of the standard game).

Tyrian 2000 is easily my favourite scrolling shooter of all time. I played the original game ages ago, and then played the 2000 version when I remembered how the game was called. Many thanks to GOG.com for giving this game away for free. This is a terrific game anyone should enjoy.

still one of the best scroll-up-shooter till today

Tyrian is a very fun space arcade game with diverse levels, ship and weapons upgrade system, fun and colourful graphic, a soundtrack that you don't forget and a bit of silliness on the side. You can even play it splitscreen co-op which is quite cool for a game of this type. Free or not, this game would definitely be in my collection as one of those memorable games I played back in the day and that I still enjoy replaying. I am not sure what some people are complaining about when it comes to the GoG port. This version works flawlessly for me. Thank you, GoG, for another golden oldie.

Tyrian is perfection. It combines every SHUMP aspect possible into one solid adrenaline-packed package. Choose the mode you want: either be classical arcade with powerup gathering and keeping score. Or story-driven with data-cube capturing, shop options and more. The graphics are fantastic, they really squeezed every bit of processor power out of this one. Best played with WILD detail level. The music is also a marvel - Tyrian Level is definitely one of the best SHUMP songs out there. Get this. You won't be disappointed.
