Tunguska: The Visitation - Enhanced Edition

I enjoyed it for what it was but there are a lot, and I mean a L O T of bugs, including 1) Enemies that moonwalk while stalking you 2) Bizarre AI behavior in general that makes non garrote stealth impossible 3) Getting stuck in places trying to use something because of pathing (requires a reload) 4) Saving does not appear to reset the quest triggers if you reload creating broken situations (never had it break progress though) 5) Saving appears to reset monster mobs on maps making them spawn on top of you on reload sometimes BUT it did not crash on me, not once. It looks and plays about like you'd expect, a top-down STALKER with jank. Only thing to point out that's not obvious from the screenshots is the game is not aggressive at all about cutting away nearby buildings you are looking into, meaning your greatest enemy is a bunker or people shooting out windows. I would have given it a 4 but the bugs got me killed on more than one occasion/got very annoying near the end. I would not recommend playing on the save-limited mode.

Tunguska may seem like a bit "raw" title in terms of presentation - but under that surface, we have a very entertaining action game (with small elements of other genres - crafting, solving riddles etc). The "action part" of the game is not the usual "arcade-style" stuff - enemies usually have the advantage (number, good weapons, good positions to defend etc), so you need to make it wise - use the advantages of weapon you're currently using, finding weak spots in the defence, using tactics "hit and run"... Or you may try sneaking and silent killing enemies, one by one. Fights with local mutants are not that sophisticated, yet still challenging (especially if you're trying to kill them with melee weapons, to obtain resources for serum). The game is trying to find the balance between being accessible (so avoiding artificial bumping up the difficulty and being clear in terms of rules) and challenging (restrictions regarding regaining health, curing from radiation and local illness, limitations of your weapons etc). I think in general it's doing quite fine. There are some minor setbacks, that are not terrible but can be a bit annoying (like unpredictable behaviour of your aim, especially if there is any elevation - this thing is more visible if you have a laser add-on to your weapon). I like the fact that the game is actively improved, up to this day - a good example for other indie developers. Tunguska was basically created by one person - yet it can compete with other indie games, made with much more people and money. And not only compete, but also win in that comparison, which is impressive. I also appreciate the accessible base price of the game. Give it a try, there is a big chance, that you will enjoy it. And don't worry if you're not a fan of the original Stalker series - Tunguska has a lot to offer for everyone, who likes this genre.

As a fan of Stalker I had to try this out, and I'm impressed by the effort shown in Tunguska: The Visitation. The atmosphere is outstanding, love the music and sound design. The dialogue options seem meaningful, with incentive to talk to all the NPCs and hear everything they have to say to get the full story. The environment can be deadly, but the same things that make it deadly can offer tactical options in tough combat situations. Well made game with satisfying challenges to overcome, and developed by a one-man studio. Very cool!

Incredible that 1 guy did all by himself this Masterpiece: Thank you for the well done immersion and gameplay from an old school fan like me of all the Stalkers and the real isometric Fallout games from the past. I like the combat tough like you did, where each bullet count for winning a fight with a little bit of tactic and serums. The progression for finding new gears and guns are excellent, can't wait for further DLC, please, give us more guns, modding capability and more monsters to put down. Thanks you for creativity!
