Why buy on GOG.COM?
DRM FREE. No activation or online connection required to play.
Does not work on my PC, it crashes always after like 30 seconds of running, I've been looking online and this is a years-old bug that affects many users.

Seems to be related to the game's audio.
Sucks this game disabling bug still hasn't fixed, so avoid this game.
Basically Tropico 5 does not work properly on Windows 10 and there is no official information about it for someone wanting to buy the game, which is very upsetting. If you want to play, you need to turn off the audio driver completely.
The problem is that the problem is well known by Calypso and they do nothing about it. That's why I decided to give 1 star only - to prevent people who are unaware of the bug from buying the game from a company that does not even care enough to fix the problem that makes the game shut after 20 seconds.
That game looses a lot when there is not a single sound.. It makes it bearly playable.
Im not good at reviews so I use this as my personal statement for the developers;
First off the GOOD;
Making a thriving economy in a Tropical Scenario works wonders in this game.
The gameplay mechanics of producing goods and selling them while keeping everything efficient is wonderful and you feel like every minute in the game you learned some new trick of making your economy faster, your people happier, or your rise to power unevitable
But the BAD
Gets you fast, Even how hard you try, sooner or later you have to face the opposition on the Battlefield, and there is where chaos strikes: No single chance of commanding your troops, troops WILL glitch and strike and walk into walls, leaving your plantations vulnerable and later on your economy destroyed... Oh and you even tried building a fortress or military base directly beneath your most precious Industries? Its off no use, because your troops decided to take a walk into the woods instead of staying in the vicinity of their designated stronghold.
And the Multiplayer? I wanted it so bad to be good, but it was even more full of military glitches, hindering me from finishing specific buildings because "You can finish buildings during a battle" even if the specified battle was 3 years ago. Troops suddenly stayed at my mates city instead of home
And worst of all, there is almost nothing to do in Multiplayer... Nothing but helping your friend to money...
Resume:
We had stuck 6 continuous hours into this game, we tried to have fun, we even had a bit of fun, but spent a long time after discussing, why this game just somehow feels like a big ripoff...
I didnt expect this amount of failures in a game with a big 5 behind it...
The game is broken, it has not been playable for months. COG has not fixed it and passes the buck to Kalipso and will not get a fix for the game. This is the last game I will buy on COG.
