Trepang 2 has a pretty narrow focus, but it does the bloody first-person combat genre proud. Kudos to developer Trepang for doing a few things really well and not trying to make the next Call of Duty clone. Trepang 2 borrows a few ideas from F.E.A.R. and snags some mechanics from classic shooters, and the result is both fresh and familiar fun.

fear mixed with doom

There are few better feelings in gaming than dual wielding shotguns, going in to slow mo, and taking out four guys in mid air. This is not a deep game, not a game that makes you think, or a game that truly innovates. It's just GOOD.

The most badass a game can make you feel

like FPS? Like guns, guts, gore, a great story, enemys and gameplay? GET THIS GAME NOW. The story subverted my expectations and all the gameplay mechanics, level design, lore, art direction, performance. also there is bullet time and invisibility powers, whats not to love? super challenging difficulties or you can play it ez for the story or just for the power fantasy

nice first try

+ Fundamentals are here. Movement, guns, particle effects. + Decent AI, which does some of the staff similar to original FEAR. + A lot of difficulties to master. + Part SCP-like, part corporate conspiracy setting. - Most arenas are too small and open, so enemies are all around you all the time. Low tactics, mostly reaction. - No ADS and leaning, so main play style is spamming slides. - Story is close to non-existant, even by comparasion with FEAR.

Good Game, Sub-par GOG release

I like this game a lot, the guns and systems all mesh together really well. It should be noted that the GOG support for this release has been very poor, lacking updates and game systems for a LONG time, still worth playing though.
