First off, "boredgunner's" review is BS....Trepang2 is most certainly *not* a successor to FEAR (or FEAR 2 for that matter), but something very special in its own right. I'd say it's definitely a "love letter" to those games (and Crysis to an extent). Sounds cliche, but it's true. The campaign was fantastic, just a perfect blend of action and horror. The endless levels are a blast to play, just like the demo.
I will say, though, that the final boss was a bit too tough (and borderline frustrating to kill), but that's a very minor criticism.
All in all, this game deserves a seat at the table along with the other aformentioned legendary FPSs.

Combat is frantic and fun, the environmental chaos is a feast for the eyes, and the game comes with unlockable cosmetics and old-school cheats. It's a complete and polished product made by four developers that puts modern AAA studios to shame. The story is confusing, and the boss fights are annoying bullet-sponge affairs, but aside from that, I wholeheartedly recommend this game.
A heart-thumping, adrenaline-pumping, high-octane adventure with fiendish enemies, horrific things that no man, woman or child was ever meant to understand, and more slow-mo than Bollywood. 10/10, P L A Y I T.
