Voiceovers and cutscenes enrich the story and contribute to a thrilling gameplay experience, and even the free play mode will challenge you with different achievements to unlock.

Optimize the Infrastructure
It is vital to adapt your company to the needs of the economy and cities: bridges, tunnels, switches, rail signals, one-way streets, light signals, and bus lanes are just some of the possibilities you can use to optimize the transport infrastructure. Even train stations and airports can be expanded with modules in order to meet different requirements; and various data layers help you visualize traffic volumes and emissions, and provide information for further improvements.

Excellent Logistics Game

I almost want to call this a train game, since rail is defintely the darling of the game. With transport by road, you just have to build roads, pick up, and drop off stations without worrying about route management (unless you're waypointing to avoidd busy areas). With boats and plans you just click the route, add a vehicle, and fold your arms. The biggest warning I would give new players coming from other train games is that the supply/demand in this game 1) works backwards from usual, and 2) is very hard to get feel for. I'll explain myself in a moment, but to wrap up my thoughts: it's definitely a worthwhile game that goes DEEP. Back to supply demand... 1) Essentially goods and people are "pulled" to their wanted destination once you connect a network of transport. This means the consumer signals upstream to the provider, and it can take some in game time to get your transports efficiently (and profitably) running cargo. This means some empty vehicles at the beginning. 2) There is no view where you can see "X goods per minute provided to transport which can carry X goods per minute to consumer that wants X goods per minute." Instead you look at transport percentages. The provider ones is what % is carried away. The consumer one is what % of demand is satisfied. So you have to go through several windows just to understand where your bottlenecks are.

One step up, two back from TF1

This is a sweet, very well optimised game which rungs great even with Integrated 6th gen Intel graphics (well, TF1 ran a bit better), at least in Linux!. It is the same game, but with some changed formulas: Graphics: those are a bit better, even if I think TF1 still looks great. 9/10 Music: Same level as TF1 at first... but they are not designed to be played on loop! I enjoy the first minutes, and end up muting the music before getting a headache... Specially bad during campaigns, where there is only one track 3/10. Sound: Amazing 10/10 Now the mechanics.... Bad: The first great change is that they included pollution as a factor that affects city growth. Sounds cool.. till you realize they totally replaced the old aging mechanics. Because they also removed the auto replacing feature and it is so annoying to micro manage when you have tons of vehicles you went from maps where gradually you get your vehicles replaced and feels realistic to just selecting a whole line and swapping with a new vehicle. Also I don't see any weather down graphics anymore on vehicles. I wish I could go back to the old mechanic! Game feels less organic and alive because of this. God: Gone with the stupid: Takes 10 years for a train to complete a route and technologies come and go faster than you can experiment them! You can slow or even stop down time, and play the game forever in any era you want! No more saying goodbye to steam trains! No more boring looking planes and trucks from modern era! I wish this was a standard feature for this kind of games!. This feature alone is what makes me still play this game. In conclusion: This is a fine game, but perfection would be having Transport Fever 1, with all its quirks, music and mechanics, AND the stop calendar feature from TF2...

Amazing management!

I've never got this amount of value for my money before, this game is insane! It's like I can't grow tired of it, and I've not even seen half of it yet ;D Only downside so far is the "tutorial", which is very bad at teaching you what you need to know. It's even easy to choose wrong building/station during the first steps, thinking there is a bug in the game cause the train doesn't work, but it's just the tutorial being bad at showing you exactly what to do! Just google everything you don't get, and check youtube, and do loads of trial and error yourself. The starting campain is there to teach you, and you have loads of money so nothing can go wrong. The final step is if course sandbox, that's what the game is about, and it'll give you endless entertainment! Graphics and details of the trains is so beautiful, very relaxing to just watch them do their work. And very gratifying to try and solve a transport problem the best way you can, even if it's not needed - it's not like it's game over cause you don't do everything perfect, just play it as you want. But trying to optimize for time/money, how to lay the tracks, design the stations, put trainsignals right, choose right locomotive or mix of carts and so on and so on! Just be prepared to learn most of it on your own! It's not hard as long as you have some time and patience, and it's fun to learn since it's all so beautiful and releaxing to just look at :) Some things can take a while before you grasp, like that trains can only load cargo from the platform right next to it. But when it's unloading it sort of "teleports" goods to all platforms, or even to nearby truck stations if roads are connected to a station house. What if someone had told me right away instead! But it's all fun even while learning, so no big deal, but you won't get everything on a silver plate here, you need to learn yourself while playing the campain, then go sandbox when you feel ready :)

Wait for major patch

After playing this game for 56 hours i decided to review it . while the game offers more content than TF1 most of which are poor copies of player mods it is still buggy and every so often just closes to dest top . The cargo and depots allow you to configure them with more entrance and exits but when using them if you have a lot of vehicles on your lines they get jammed in the depot and unable to move also when configuring stations and docks it is very clumsy and can be a stuggle to get modules to snap into postion you want. Having said this the game can still be enjoyed and the landscape has more content. Also you get better views from the camera when riding along or in the vehicles . If some of the issues i mentioned above are fixed in a future patch i would increase my star rating for the game if your prepared to put up with the random crash and clunky mechanics then its a good buy if not wait a while and hope it get patched before buying

I was expecting more

As many people wrote it here, it seems that TF2 is TF1.5. I have been playing it since the day it has been out, and I have been disapointed by severl things: - the vehicules are the same as in TF1 - the new menus are not that great since they're less intuitive - the IA is not smart at all. I had to put some good restrictions on some lines, I had wood carried by 1 truck, 2 trains, 2 planes, 1 truck and 1 train. And some wood from another camp was going the exact other way around!.. This is ridiculous. Then my planes were not carrying anymore goods to some cities. - trains are more expensive Things has changed, but they are useless: - new icons - head quarters Since I play, I feel that I'm waiting for something that won't come. Oh and in the US trains, why annoucing 300 km/h for a train that don't even reach 250 km/h?
