Total Annihilation: Kingdoms + Iron Plague

It's a great game, I remember playing it back in the day but this version simply won't launch, no matter what tweaks I do. Bummer.

While it does share a lot of similarities with other TA games, this one has the coolest setting and one of the more engaging RTS campaigns out there, with the constant shift in perspective for different factions and the stylistic narrative inbetween missions. Mechanics-wise it does a lot of unique things, some good and some questionable, some useful and some useless. I personally am a huge fan of the drag box to select unit attack targets, the infinite summoning queue and being able to put additional mages to help summon units faster. Unit movement is interesting with the rotation rates being so relevant for certain units like ships and zeppelins. Unit veterancy is also very nice with the added golden armor they gain. Sadly the interface is kind of bad and doesn't describe anything ingame. Above all else I find the Soundtrack of this game to be one of Jeremy Soule's best, just under his Dungeon Siege music.

A great title forgotten by time. I highly recommend it, especially if you've played TA. Yes, I have nostalgia for it, but the campaigns are fun on their own and the skirmish mode is something I've enjoyed ceaselessly. I remember the first game, pre patch and how many bugs it had. If you remember those bugs, such as loading a game and the allied factions turning on each other, pick this up. It has been fixed, as well as some of the AI issues, like Weather Witches casting hail storm too rapidly.

I loved this gam and I bought it without a second thought. Unfortunatly, possible due to tech advancemnts in DirectX or Windows, the game will not show any cinematics. Also, it crashes when the resolution is changed.

Searched for a long time to find a way to play, since my current video card is incompatible.
