Tomb Raider I-III Remastered Starring Lara Croft

My favorite franchise remastered is the only thing that I need! Can't wait for more TR games and remasters!

This is it. This is Tomb Raider & Lara Croft at their peak, the trilogy that sparked female protagonists in video games being "cool" and the start of many rip-offs, clones and sequels that are still being made to this day. This remaster isn't perfect, there are some visual bugs (like a painting appearing below a water tile), some stuttering, no audio enhancements and questionable modern controls but the asking price and value outweigh the negatives. You're getting a massive visual boost where gameplay, real-time cutscenes and FMVs are all covered, as well as small details like Lara's braid being available in TR1, water drops dripping from her clothes, smoke from guns and much more come to life. There're new accessibility options including subtitles, language selection, boss health bars and toggleable HD/original graphics at anytime. Photo mode is a beauty too since the camera is fully unlocked so you can explore the entire level without danger. Also included are the expansion packs for each game (console owners get these for the first time too) that can be played anytime. They're also fully remastered. This is a MUST BUY for Tomb Raider fans and people who love exploration, puzzle solving and platformers. You'll be going from caves to jungles to underwater shipwrecks, frozen lands, ancient temples and modern cities. Many biomes, puzzle varieties, weapons, costumes, atmosphere! Tomb Raider 1-3 are the Queens of 3D action platformers and is officially BACK!

Best way to play the original Tomb Raider trilogy

Very nostalgic but the controls are awfull.

First the graphics are nice, and if you dont like them you can switch to the original at any time, in the main menu, during loading screens, cutscenes or gameplay. The new lighting tends to make areas a bit darker and allows you to see a bit further, still nice but you may want to look up a comparison video. The medi packs used to have a white circle with a red cross, and now they have a green circle with a white cross (even in the old graphics) as the red cross is protected by the geneva convention. Pierre's jacket used to have a topless woman and she now wears a bikini (in both graphic modes), very minor and hard to notice, but it is a strange change considering this release has a higher age rating than the originals. About the controls, (I only used tank controls) the controller support is nice and you can use the left stick or the dpad for movement, right stick for the camera. As the game has a feature for looking around and dpad is suitable for the movement in tank controls you could use an older style controller without analog sticks if you wanted. The default controls for controller are really good. (BIGGEST ISSUE) On xbox controller by default A is interact and X is jump, I tried to swap these and it doesnt seem to work even after closing and reopening the game. (changing keyboard controls seemed to work as expected) The only other issues I can think of are very minor and are mostly tiny changes to how you can bind the controls. 1. You cant bind the ENTER key to anything (you could in the original). 2. When binding actions to the numpad 8,4,6 and 2 keys will be bound as UP, LEFT, RIGHT and DOWN, meaning they overlap with the arrow keys. (didnt do this in the original) 3. There is no longer a way to bind STEP LEFT and STEP RIGHT to a key/button, you must use the walk function and left or right.
