Tomb Raider GOTY

great reboot of the tomb raider series. mechanics, gameplay and story telling are modernized. the gameplay is fun and engaging as well as the puzzles. Those are not too challenging, so they are rather a alternation to the "shooting" phases of the game and vise versa. Story telling is also done well. Over all every aspect of the game adds to it and improves it. there are pretty much no unneccessary elements in the game. There is also a lot of stuff to collect for those achievments hunters, but it is not an excessive amount like in some open world games nowadays. Therefore it is quite fun to do it on the side. If u dont have it already and may like a mix of puzzles and shooters this is a game for u!

i would say this one is much better tr game then the previous ones.

I only gave 4 stars due to this versions poor optimisation. The Steam version is 9.7GB, GoG is 16GB. I can easily run the game, locked at 4K 120fps with Steam, while this version stutters. It's not game breaking, but it's noticable, so I'd stick to 60fps or variable. I really hope they fix this, because in my opinion, it's a classic.

Been following this franchise since the start. The graphics kept getting better but the game play would get a little stale, I like a mix between exploration and action and only Tomb Raider 2 and Legend gave em that, so I finished those two of the original series, but never finished the others. I imagine in the end Lara wins however. ;) I tried this reboot years ago but had some odd off and on CTD issue so after an hour I gave up and got a refund. This time around, same ctd issue but I read if I set the hair to normal instead of Tesshair and disable high point whatever, it should be stable, so I'll give that a go later today. But with that being said, I do like what they've done with Lara, she looks more realistic, the story is actually dark and almost horror like which is cool, and the story has far more depth than earlier games. Some whined that at earlier points in the game, at least one of the bad guys did try to sexually assault her, but she kicked his ass so they should be happy, shows a woman overcoming the odds, shows empowerment. But well, can't please everyone...

Good game with a terrible Lara Croft. The personality and charisma doesn't even come close to Lara from previous games
