Tomb Raider GOTY

Just a simple singleplayer open world game. without stupid seasons and what else all these newer games have.

The Good: True Lara Game Action Pace! No Multiplayer achievement sh!t The Bad: The amount motion sickness I got from playing the game! KBM control sometimes sucks! Soft-Lock glitch and achievement you need to delete save game!

The game still holds up very well in 2024. Nice story, skills and gears upgrades are straightforward and not overwhelming. Collectibles and puzzles spread all around the map are never boring. Graphics are great even for a game released in 2013. The music and set pieces are superb and keep you engaged, adding that layer of tension in combat. The traversal and gameplay are very well done.

For a game from 2013 it blew my mind.. With all the settings on ultra it doesnt even look bad at all. Very good game!

I have loved Tomb Raider since the beginning, except the fact that it is 3rd person. I am old school (computers before Windows or DOS existed), and HATE 3rd person, and this is made for consoles (curse be upon them). The quick action parts are extremely annoying too, but that isn't new. (I am still looking for button 0 on my mouse .. ?!?, which it keeps telling me to push). The graphics are done very well for the time period, even the hair was done better than most games this day and age.. Have been able to run it on Linux (using Lutris), no problems unless I ALT-TAB out and take more than a minute or 2, which it locks up. It actually runs smoother on Linux than Windows for me. Of course most of the games I run on Linux run smoother than Windows, lol. Overall, good game with a bit of frustration sometimes.
