Windows 10 Compatibility?

The Game itself seems nice. Not sure if it's because I use Windows 10, or if my system has to low spec, but it hangs (Not responding in Task Manager) from sometimes, (Mostly on Scene switch, or when using special moves for the first time) once it does I can only kill it. Also sometimes the Game seems rater slow. For ex. Keyyboad Inputs are still exectued for 1-2 sec after pressing. The reason I question if this is because Win 10, is since running the Game in Adminmode + with compatibility activated, fixes these most of the time (especely the Not Responding). (My Reason for 4 Stars instead of 5) I noticed some places where the Game hangs for me every time, when not using compatibility. Another thing I noticed is, that if the Video in the beginning has some delay/hangs, then the same happens in the rest of the game, restarrting the game often fixes it.

Comfort Food

Yes, that's how I can best describe Tokyo Xanadu. It won't blow anyone away, but it's certainly an enjoyable adventure across parts of its imaginary version of Tokyo. The dungeon combat is adequate, but it got a bit repetitive after a while as I encountered varying degrees of similar enemies as the game progressed. TX's handheld origin is also quite noticeable in some of its design limitations. That said, what kept me playing most was the cast of characters and the story. Sure, they do follow the average anime high schooler tropes, but that didn't stop me from enjoying building relationships with all involved and following the story to its ultimate conclusion, after the first time the credits rolled. ;) Before I knew it I had blown past the 65-hour mark with nary a complaint. Lastly, I love that intro. Definitely my favorite one so far for any of Nihon Falcom's games.

Underrated, but somewhat frustrating

I own this on Steam and actually finished it only a couple of days before writing this. It's 2/3s high school boy simulator, side-questing, "social linking" (yes, there are Persona inspirations here) and 1/3 dungeon crawling. The combat is a bit stiff, with camera issues. It's not without its depth; lots of combos and special moves, nice change-character-on-the-fly system and when it works, it has a nice flow to it. The game was, however, originally released on the Vita and it has its limitations, both technically and mechanically, because of it. What it does really good is fleshing out its characters and the world. It's a trope-y story with generic character archetypes, it's very standard action anime, with magical weapons and demonic forces and "calamities" and all that jazz-- but what it lacks in uniqueness, the game makes up for with sheer bravado. Even minor characters stand out and give the game world character, while the core cast are all distinct and likable. The low-point of the game is the fact that it has three endings, when it needed only one. It does overstay its welcome, to be honest, the gameplay loop isn't tight enough for the 60+ hours it took me to clear it. It should've wrapped things up around Chapter 5-6, around the 35-hour-mark. There is such a thing as too much of a good thing. Still, this was a very pleasant surprise for me, I loved it to bits, I think back on it very fondly and I whole-heartedly recommend it to anyone looking for a fun action jrpg with an anime flavor.

Wouldn't mind the sequel

This game is an amazing mix of Ledend of Heroes & YS series. The things I like the most about the game are: - The story & characters, those are the segments were Falcom consistently delivers amazing results. - The idea behind main story is simple (find the root cause behind supernatural phenomenos that are occuring in imagionary city of Japan called Morimiya), but the way it builds and the accasional unexpected plot gives the story that extra layer of excellence. - Each characters feels unique and have certain charisma around them . In addition the dialogues between characters are very well written . - Dynamic & fun combat system - Soundtrack: 10/10 , nothing to add here. - Minigames . although I was little bit disappointed that the Potato & vantage master weren't playable. It took me around 60 hours to beat the game and it was well worth the effort because the ending was a blast. Hope they make a sequel one day.

Enjoyable RPG

A very enjoyable game. The things I like about it are: ・The story, predictable but the characters give it color. ・The combat, easy but interesting ・You can go back to dungeons you have already been to. ・The fact that you have to use multiple characters to beat dungeons faster. ・You can skip dialog if you have already played through it and don't want to be bothered with a certain part of the story. ・Remapping controller can be done in game without the need for a 3rd party control mapper. ・The game can be played in either windowed, borderless or fullscreen, ・Minigames This is one of those games I go back to and play again casually from time to time. Thanks Falcom and Aksys
