A lot of micromanagement
I just started a story game and I already see the following. 1. There will be a lot of micromanagement. You need to manually clean each dog. Then you need to take the dog to the play zone and play a mini-game to increase happiness. You will also need to manually put food in the bowl and water too. To adopt a dog, you need to pull the dog out of the kennel(which is easy, but then you need to put them back and pull 5 new dogs out for the next customer) 2. The dog play area acts weird, I tried to put the dog back in the kennel and the dog makes me blink every few seconds back to the play area (like the dog is pulling me) so it takes more time to put the dog back. 3. This is not turn based, there is a day timer running. 4. This game may be too complex for kids under 10. I bought this hoping to occupy my kids. The tutorial is not bad. The controls need a little work. Basically you need to get used to putting items back once you are done using them(Yes, put them back from your hand(inventory). Leashing the dog when there are multiple in range may take time to get used to. As of this writing I did not finish day 1 yet on story mode. I am hoping some automation or assistant characters will be available later in the game.
