Don't ruin your TQ

I've been a fan of TQ since the start, it was my first pre-order ever. I played hundreds of hours of the retail version with my friends and over 150 in this version. I tought this DLC was going to be good but its not, definilty not made with the same love that the standalone was made with. THE BAD -Pointless backtracking ( A LOT OF IT), in a hack and slash….. -Bothersome quests and big empty maps, where you will be walking a lot -Time consuming enemies that just run and dodge a lot on top of it -Bugs lots of em like I've never seen in the polished standalone version (you get stuck in lootchests, projetiles stop in invisible walls A LOT, missing quest icons from NPCs, FPS etc...) - The loot seems to be tilted in favor of the new pieces, where you will find 3 of the same blue item sometimes in less than 20 minutes -The new Rune class in bland THE GOOD -Music, its pretty good (probably the only guy that was excited about the game) -New little things that help you, the toggle button of the inventory now joins relic components and such, 2 skill bars now, a new tab on stash for relics and recipies (and it tells you if you have all parts) FINAL VEREDICT Don't ruin your perfect, glitchless Titan Quest with this

Play the good old Gold Edition instead!

Avoid this abomination at all costs! Gigantic empty locations, megatons of bugs, missing textures everywhere, ugly items and mobs models, absolutely stupid 'just another one more Nordic/vikings setting again' that misfits original Titan Quest atmosphere badly, the tenth Mastery added just to be added, endless hordes of puny human bandits to kill (after when you were elegantly and mercilessly slaying Titans and Gods themselves in original game - WTF?)... There's also no meaning to play Anniversary edition alone (with no Ragnarok), just because it adds nothing really useful or really needed, changing GUI and some mechanics to worse, and dropping the difficulty to more easy and schoolboys-friendly way. Save your hard-earned money and forget about this idiocy. If you want to enjoy Titan Quest - just get Gold Edition, roll the fan-patch 1.17a over and you're fine.

Avoid.

TQ Anniversary is a solid experience, but the expansions should be avoided. The extra content and some of the graphic improvements are nice, except when you're in the Act correspondent to this expansion. Very bad VA, FPS drops from 100 to 18, bugs with attacks vanishing (as a staff user), and that's only what I encountered before dying one too many times to a mob rush during a PowerPoint Presentation level of FPS section. Enemies are bland, contrasting with the base game, and the expansion has overall less polish. Buy if heavily discounted, to enhance your base game experience. Do not touch the expansion Act.

Much more robust than Alantis

If we are just comparing this from expansion point of view, this has more to offer than it's previous offerings. -More stakes -Much bigger area to explore, it's like a whole world area. -New class to play around with -New game feature (hitting lvl 40 automatically) -New items -New enemies I don't know what the people are speaking about when it comes to the glitches, I played the whole thing without a single glitch. If anything I hope it teaches them not to buy and play games the day they come out. But the simple fact is if you want more Titan Quest with that same feel you got when you first played, get this.

Good, but needs some polishing

I just finished the final chapter of this expansion. It's of course, basically the same gameplay as TQ:AE., but there are some things about it that stood out like a sore thumb. The art of the equipment doesn't match the original art and makes it kind of stand out oddly with the original equipment. Sometimes when exploring, trees and mountains will not become transparent and block your view. One part on the last chapter I walked behind a mountain that completely blocked my view and I wasn't able to walk my character out in the open which forced me to quit and reload from the previous save. The quests are rather confusing at times. Some items that you start on one chapter will be solved in different chapters way later. I have several quest items in my inventory that I wasn't able to figure out where they belong, but I didn't really take the time to find out because it was just annoying. Also for some side-quests, the "!" over a NPC's head wasn't yellow when I had the item to bring to them leaving me thinking if I needed to do more for the side-quests. Then for some side-quests, the "!" was yellow after I had already finished the quest. So, these problems didn't allow the side-quests to flow well like in TQ:AE and may leave you confused. Besides those minor cons, I still enjoyed the expansion like TQ:AE. So, if you can look past those minor problems like I did, and you are really into TQ:AE, then I recommend this expansion.
