Spiritual successor of the TQ and IT

I’ve been waiting for Atlantis even before Ragnarok was released and disappointed me with poor visuals of new items, pants which became part of the boots instead of being part of the cloth and humans as enemies ruined TQ spirit completely for me. Still hope they will do a remaster of Ragnarok once to fix it. So in this way Atlantis correspond perfectly to the stile and ideas of TQ original and Immortal Throne add-on so no more killing humans. Maybe Atlantis is not as epic as originals and the locations of city Atlantis itself looks like an antique post apocalypse what makes me feel rather like a stalker discovering abandoned places than epic hero and titan slayer but I enjoyed it. All the locations of the chapter are big enough, well made and have their own architecture and visual stile what doesn’t let to get bored. The only disadvantage it’s the to much red color in Africa. There are a lot of new monsters. Some of them can be meet at specific locations only. There are also some already known by previous chapters monsters. Unfortunately no skeletons, I like them falling apart after being smashed! There are as well some monsters bosses and monsters heroes. Quests are good enough, but there are could be more. I guess the gameplay could be longer with more quests and it could be a bit more epic but it still makes you feel that is old good Titan Quest. So Atlantis is really well done add-on, maybe not as perfect as original but it worth to play. Can’t say much about balance as was playing with already charged 72 level character but new hunter high-level skills look nice. And for the developers I would suggest to add more quests and improve some aspects of the game to make it an ideal spiritual successor of the original.

Excitement replaced dissapointment

The review for the original game is 5*, period. I love the game, I have hard copy of the original game, the extension and purchased the anniversary edition on Gog. I have also bought the Ragnarok, which is pretty good! And I have Titan Quest on my mobile phone, Android. When I have seen new expansion, I went for it right away. I shoud not have. It doesn't offer much, only one map, that is not even a normal full act. It is rather added story and short at that. While I would be happy to see additional stories available, the price could not be 13.99, but less than half. If you see an offer for this price, go for it. But it is a big NO for the full price. There isn't even a new skill added in. Also, it has multiple glitches, when I got stuck in the middle of the map unable to move. Twice. Also, dropped items "keep on jumping" and so you aren't able to pick them up and if you rin(as usually you do), you gonna miss them. Happened to me that I went back thru the map again to fulfil a quest and found many items on the floor. What? I don't leave them at all, I was thinking... Well, get used to it. Also, the bestiary hasn't introduced anything revolutionary. The story, which I have loved in the original, had minimal details, or storytellers. It just looks like someone had created it without any kind of insight what Atlantis was, nor an idea. Well, I got it now and I would not ask for a refund, but the disappointment is really there. That is all I can say about the "extension" (should be really only a story).

Fun but too short

Same as with the Ragnarok expansion it is definitely worthwhile to play if you like the original Titan Quest + Immortal Throne. It is of course not at the same level as the original TQ, but still surprisingly good. Where the Ragnarok expansions felt like a real expansion, Atlantis felt like it was over way too quickly. It took me 5-6 hours to finish the story on legendary difficulty on a lvl 75 character while just taking it slowly. The new monsters and maps are alright. The mapping actually felt a little bit better in comparison with the Ragnarok expansion. Things like the new account-wide relic bank, right-clicking items to bank, combat numbers, quick cast, background colours for items in your bag are all amazing aditions to the game. Also the new skills are quite cool and usefull, atleast the ones I've tried. There is also an infinite dungeon added which should make up for the short story, but this quickly became rather boring imo. If you like Titan Quest you will most likely also enjoy this expansion. The only con is the short story line.

Meh...

I'd really like to give this a better rating, but I can't. The graphics and art are really well done. Creatures are better than Ragnarok. But, thats about it. The story is lackluster and too short to be an expansion compared to Ragnarok. The side quests aren't anything special and a couple in particular that had great promise are left undeveloped. Unfortunatley it seems like the quality of life improvements included with the mod were given far too much weight. The stash improvements should have been gratis and extra time should have been spent on the story and quests. This is weak and in retrospect I'd only buy it at a significant discount. Verdict: Monster, Level and Environment Artists: You killed it. Story Team: You got work to do, lots of it. Quality of Life: You aren't carrying the team.

The same money-grab again...

I was stupid enough to have Atlantis bought even after I've already ate the turd with Ragnarok. Do NOT repeat my mistakes. If you're a fan of good old Titan, here you'll see nothing new and nothing better than before. They were still not be able to add the full-fledged new act. Bugs are aplenty, graphics 'improvements' still make game look worse and lag like mad, the story and narration are bland, new items and monsters are nothing notable, and poorly balanced as well. if you're new to TQ and eager to play it, you have not much other options (as I could guess, there's no legal way now to get the good old TQ + Immortal Throne + fanpatch). Just keep in mind that this game was really great back then, but now it's 'improved' to the worse by random bad cobblers.
