In this epic quest of good versus evil, players will encounter the greatest villains of Greek mythology, brave the attacks of Cerberus, and hazard the banks of the River Styx. Graceful Aging

Diablo II was a great game, and there were a lot of mediocre clones that attempted to capitalize on it's success. Titan Quest was, fortunately, very much the exception (albeit, a full 6 years later). While Titan Quest features decent voice-acting and good music, it shined brightest in it's visuals -- and even now, graphically, it holds up extremely well. Unfortunately, the game-play and scripting hasn't fared quite as well. Aside from watching NPCs engage in skirmishes, there's little purpose they serve other than triggering dialogue and quests. But who's here for interaction anyways? It's the character progression and battles that keep players coming back -- and while the progression is still fun, the battles don't shine quite as bright as they once did. This is largely because every attack requires a click (which may not be a big deal to some, but can be tedious to others, and even frustrating to those attempting to play on a laptop, or with a touch-pad, or touch-screen device). As a side note: There's also a glaring technical limitation to this release (which I'm not factoring into my overall score) ... ▸The in-game mouse cursor will be frozen on any HD device (including the Microsoft Surface). This is a result of having application scaling set to anything other than 100% (which is far to small on HD devices). The only work around is to either set scaling to 100%, or run Titan Quest in windowed mode (by hitting alt-enter, or un-checking full-screen in the game options). Just something to be aware of before hand.

Why no greek audio and text?

A beautiful game. Even though I haven't played the game so much I had the urge to make a review. It is money well spent on but it saddens me that I rate it 4 stars instead of 5 that it rightfully deserves. As greek is my mother language, there wasn't any doubt in my mind that a high rated game set in Greece such as Titan Quest Anniversary Edition, would not be included in my game library. I was very disappointed when I found out that it has over 12 different languages but not greek. A marvelous game set in Ancient Greece that Greek language is non-existent.. It's like developing a game set in Japan that you do not add japanese dialogue and text. In my opinion that is the best way to immerse someone into the world the developers created. It feels more natural. More authentic. And it really bothers me not having it included in the game. There are a few games in the market that have included greek audio and/or text that probably wouldn't be much of a problem not adding them in the end since it wouldn't fit the said games. The case is different in this one. The developers have created a game set in Ancient Greece and mythology with very good English dialogues in it but for my point of view, as soon as the characters open their mouth to speak, I instantly lose my immersion. That opening scene when you were greeted with some ancient greek dialogues that an English person unintentionally butchers is beyond me. Make no mistake. It is a good thought of the developers to add over 12 different languages. It's just truly fail to understand why not Greek... It doesn't make any sense to me... I wish that Greek will be implement in the future. This game rightfully deserves it.

A Timeless Classic REBORN

When I saw TQ Anniversary Edition pop up in my Steam feed the day AFTER launch I was stunned, to say the least. How did this get past me so quietly and without much fanfare? So, well, INSTABUY. Cha-ching! I can say I am really pleased with the work THQ Nordic has done on the game. It shows instantly. Let's get to a get run down, shall we? 1st, the game looks amazing in 1080, looks even better running on trip mons at 5760x1080, and yes, it runs at that resolution (all AMD rig btw). With the game being combined with Immortal Throne AND upgraded to run on modern rigs the love shows. Shadows are crisper. Characters pop in HD now. Spell effects and weapon sparks look amazingly better. The day/night cycles seem to take advantage of the upgrade as well and just seem to cycle through the world better as well. Sound works as it did before and runs fabulous in 5.1 without any noticeable flaws. No crackling, no popping (some experienced this prior years ago) and voice-overs seem to have a noticeably better HD pickup done to them as well (not sure if it was done, but it does seem nicer). Creature design and level design was already top notch and now it looks better popping out in 1080 or higher. Running dual Sapphire Tri-X R9 290s, AMD FX 8350 BE, 16GB or Gskill, Win10 and 1TB WD Velociraptor all on an Asus Sabertooth 990FX Gen3 mobo and the game runs pretty much flawlessly. Loading times even seem to be better this time around and I've encountered no problems. So, in closing, if you where a fan of TQ before it's worth the purchase. Easily. If you're a fan of rpgs in the vein of Diablo1,2 and 3, Grim Dawn, Path of Exile, Van Helsing trilogy, Baldur's Gate, Icewind Dale, Nox, Divinity (any of them), Sacred 1 or 2, etc, etc, then you should have this in your library. Asap. I should also say I own the game on Steam as I owned the digital copies on that platform. However, I wanted to add my 2 cents as I'm a huge supporter of GOG and all their good old games as well.

This is why you should play this game!!!

This was the first game I really played ... like more than just 10 hours. And since then I allways came back to this game and did some playtroughs. I think you know how hyped I was after seeing this new Edition. All in all this game is just AWESOME! If you haven't played it allready then now is the time do it. The beginning may seem a bit boring but as you play trough this game you will see that it's not about leveling up as fast as you can to do the end game content (like Diablo). It's about playing the game itself. There is no endgame. It is all the evolving of your character with the "to-masteries-system" that allows a high variety in every playtrough.
