Thronebreaker is a single player role-playing game set in the world of The Witcher that combines narrative-driven exploration with unique puzzles and card battle mechanics.
Crafted by the developers responsible for some of the most iconic moments in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, the game spins a truly regal tale of Meve, a war-veteran and queen of two Northern Realms — Lyria and Rivia. Facing an imminent Nilfgaardian invasion, Meve is forced to once again enter the warpath and set out on a dark journey of destruction and revenge.

Thronebreaker has a similar level of storytelling as the witcher 3, The main narrative swaps the father - daughter search from the witcher 3 into a mother - son conflict which allows for some fun takes on similar ideas. Thronebreaker has a ton of fun puzzles, engaging characters, a whole slew of witchery morally grey roleplay choices, and I hope to see a continuation of the witcher tales, although I fear that may be too high a hope with the amount of time passed since Thronebreaker released.
The only outright failure of this game seems to be that CDPR didn't market it well.
The music and voiceacting is superb 10/10
The writing is overall extremely good, only the main story in Mahakam is a bit odd and nonsensical at the end.
Shortened battles with extra rules and the puzzles are the most fun. Full 3 Round Battles are annoying. The card game combat no longer resembles TW3 Gwent, and doesnt need to, but it made marketing weird and soured expectations. Its well balanced as far as im concerned, even on the highest difficulty.
My biggest gripe though is that the game is extreeemly slow with its pacing. I expected a 20 hour journey, but it ended up being 42 for my first run. If you want to do 100% and listen to all dialogue, its simply to long.
But again, the soundscape and music and voiceacting is just so good. The track Homecoming makes you teary-eyed.
Addictive and fun! The graphics are good on my HP Laptop and runs smooth and installed with no problems.
Note: Off topic, but Windows 11 creates problems installing games because DEP, UAC and file permissions. Also, One Drive changes the location of folders which has caused many programs I have had to install wrong or not work. I completly removed One Drive from my PC to get things to work right. Hope that helps! However, Thronebreaker installed with no issues and glad.
