This War of Mine: Complete Edition

'Game' depicts civilian struggle during a war. It is dark, it is full of misery, sad things are set to happen. And yet among all this, there is a hope. Hope of making it out alive and somehow dodge a bullet. It has fairly simplistic mechanics (just gather some stuff to expand your hideout and help out survivors), that let one feel 'boredom' and 'struggle' of those fictional characters - each with unique story and mechanics (very limited though). My main issue with it, is lack of any dynamic changes to the locations, after they had been scavenged. It would certainly add some variety and made entire experience even more unpredictable. There are some variables that make each playthrough different though, and incorporating all locations from DLCs, was a great decision on part of developers. I'd advise to watch one or two online reviews before getting it (as I would in any other case!). It is truly the best way to avoid writing 'rage review' bit later. It is not triple AAA blockbuster, but niche and unique game, that is not going to suit many. Pick wisely and don't 1 star it just because it is not your cup of tea! I had a blast!

A good survival that tells the story of the other side of war.

This game is very, very good. It ate all my free time for about three weeks. But, it is hard. Its not bad, but it seems the game is scripted to do everything opposit to you, so if you have bandages, everyone has flu and need pills, if you have pills, everyone are injured and need bandages, etc etc... So, after some time trying, you ragequit it for good with no excuses. Shame..

It’s truly disappointing to see a game used as a platform to promote other games, especially when ads are designed to mislead players into clicking by creating the impression that there’s no way to back out. The game hasn't even started and you're already taken out of the experience. Ironically, I already had Frostpunk 2 on my wishlist, but this intrusive advertising has made me decide not to spend money on either game. When people spend their hard-earned money on a game, they expect an experience free from advertising and promotions for other titles. This is not a free live service game.
