Thief™ Gold

A game where all the different ascpects (gameplay, atmosphere, sound design, level design, writing, scripting, graphics design etc.) of this particular artform mesh into a diamond. Nothing is redundant here. In dictionaries, on the word 'game', there should be a picture of Thief The Dark Project.

Thief is a good 90's first person stealth game. 9.9/10 They don't make bears like they used to.

One the first games I bought with my first computer in 1999. If you accept the graphics being from that time period, some games are just that good. Modern games are not made like these oldies but goodies. I tried to play this over the years to revisit the nostalgia days of playing this in the dark while sipping.... drinks :-) on a Friday night. Waiting for the guard to pass to blackjack them etc. However, there were always issues with how the game ran with modern systems or the lack of cutscenes etc. GOG makes this game so easy to play. It has all the cut scenes and supports my ultra wide monitor. Remember. This game is about 25 years old. That is fantastic. To boot, it is usually only a few dollars. I am taking this slow and plan to play all my old favorites and so far with Thief Gold I have had no crashes or any problems. Very happy with this. Treat yourself to older fantasitic games like Thief Gold, Thief 2, Deus Ex, System Shock 2, Jedi Outcast etc and you will see how real games were made back in the day. It will cost so little and you will get a lot of great game play and stories that you feel you are a part of and making a difference in. Just remember the graphics are dated. After a while, you won't even think about it.
