Theme Park

Haha the old Theme Park. I played this on the Playstation (PSX) release when I was about 13 years old. I first played a demo of Theme Hospital on my first computer which was a 486 PC. Later I found Theme Park at Electronics Boutique for the PSX and bought it right away. I like building the park but the thing I had hard time with was when I bought a new property to build. It was always so difficult to get profits on the new parks. I mostly went bankrupt on my 2nd park. There were a couple times I did barely move onto a 3rd park but it was like instant death once I did that. And I didn't understand the stock market at all, seemed like it did nothing but just popup annoying messages that some computer player owns 10% of my park.

No review of the game itself, just this GOG version. It installs properly, but in game the sound doesn't work (tested different settings for the sound driver) and the 'graphics are not updating automatically': whenever I build something it is there but invisible until I scroll the map. It also has alignment issues, with certain graphical items overlapping here and there where they shouldn't.

I wasted so much time as a kid in the 90's playing this game. I don't even know how in the hell it ended up in my possession but I played it all the time. I always loved making rides free but making everything else cost so much. Literally Six Flags on my desktop.

Fun game from the good old days. Just have one question thoug, anybody know how to slow down the speed of the game? Even at its slowest rate in game days go to fast.

...Which I know it's unfair, given the fact the this game is at least 3 year older than the best theme game there it is. My only problem with Theme park is that is GUI is overly complicated ( most of the time I don't know how I am losing money), but at the same time it offers one of the most complete experiences regarding business in an amusement park you'll ever seen. So, it aged badly ( which is strange, again theme hospital instead is a blast to play, even to this day) but for those ready to put some effort in understanding the game it should be one of the most fun experiences in park management... at least, if you are capable of figuring it out the game mechanism, that is!
