Theme Hospital

I really did. I mean seriously....who wants to play a game where you build a hospital. I want fire, guns, dragons, space combat and all those other awesome things people want when they play video games. But on a whim I bought this game when it was on sale for a meager 2.99 just so I could see what all the hype was about. Now I know...this game is strangely...eerily....deceptively...addictive. There are plenty of reviews that describe the gameplay and other aspects of this stellar game. I believe I can summarize it in just one sentence. Theme Hospital is just plain fun to play...and the bottom line is....buy it...play it...love it.

This is one of Bullfrog's finest games from the DOS era, no doubt about it. You are put in charge of several different hospitals in the single player mode where you encounter more and more bizarre illnesses as well as odd patients. You have to plan very carefully with how you build the different treatment and diagnosis rooms as you're only given a certain number of funds for each level, that also have different goals for how many patients you need to cure, how much you earn and so on. Another thing you must be careful with is that the doctors, nurses and other people you hire will need to every now and then take a break, this can lead to quite long lines forming outside a treatment room and it is best to put out plenty of benches for the patients to sit on. You also gotta watch out so you don't hire a doctor or nurse who's really bad at their work and kill more patients then they cure, they don't demand that much in wages but it is generally better to hire the more skilled ones instead of the cheap and bad ones. All in all, this is a really wonderful management game that people can enjoy for its silly sense of humor and later challenging levels.

OMG! This is still one of those games that actually had originality and innovation. This is a classic game that will keep you busy for hours. A simple yet heavily addictive hospital simulator with quirky humor and outrageous deceases to cure (and rats to shoot). This is where "Fun" was actually more coherent than "Realism". This is a brilliant game, a definite buy at GOG After searching through my cd's and finding this one I was so bummed out that it wasn't win7 compatible. Finding this on GOG was a godsend. No more fiddling to find the right sound card driver, no more scratched disc required, no more hassle, it is just run and play (As games should be!). Thank you GOG for bringing one of my favorites games back to life. It's guys like you that will make games stand the test of time. Thank you.

This is actually one of the first Theme games that I've played back in the day. As boring as the title sounds, its actually nothing like running a real hospital. You get to hire a quirky staff and cure some of the funniest illnesses you've ever seen. If you're tired of the sim games of today, I would definitely check this one out. It's easily worth the $5.99!

A 6 year-old could play this! Not what you're used to in this genre. You don't even need tutorial. It gets difficult step by step, it doesn't surprise you with an impossible level once the tutorial is over. A most addicting game. You're gonna feel really stupid when playing this. 1:00 am- why can't i find a good surgeon? 2:00am- omg, earthquake, my machines are broken! 2:30- AAAHH! Need more benches in the waiting room! Yep, it's pathetic. Spending nights with this childish looking oldie. But you know it's a good game, when you choose it over sleeping.
