The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Complete Edition

played a couple hundred hours on PS4, trying to get it know after i finally scrapped together enough for a decent pc. This game is a masterpiece. i hope CDPR continues like this in the future. they have my support.

The political aspects are fascinating, and everything ties together so beautifully. The open world is one of, if not the largest I've ever seen, but it does something truly special on top of that. Despite being such a large world to explore, there's always something interesting to experience just around the corner. Each location feels hand-crafted and unique, unlike certain other RPGs which fill their game world with generic locations and dungeons. The sound design is truly superb; many times have I listened to these soundtracks on their own merit. Seriously, go play this right now. Go buy it, and tell your friends to buy it as well.

I'm about 600 hours deep between console, steam, and GOG. Yes, I bought it on 3 platforms with the DLC because I love it so much. So much replayablility! I'm still discovering things I never saw in prior playthroughs (on #7 right now). Honestly the best RPG if you have the time to fully immerse yourselves.

First, to all the noobs who said "Best RPG" learn first what an rpg is. This game is labeled as "action rpg" and basically becouse nowadays even my sockets could be labeled as RPG. This is mostly an action (or adventure) game. Now, i think that technically this game is undoubtely a masterpiece. Graphics, animations, musics, and combat system are probably unsurpassed, at least so far. BUT, an rpg means you create a character, or at least chose one, decide how act according to your whim. In this game you're playing as Geralt, and in most of the times he decides for himself. Your opinion doesn't really count, except for some specific plot points, and even there, you mostly have two choices, and usually that fits Geralt's character. That being said there could be many other things that can be objected, like the mmorpg leveling style for equipment and npcs/monsters, that doesn't fit this game (luckily for some things like this one there's plenty of mods on that regard) or the fact that you can actually attack only the npcs and monsters the devs decided. But i suppose many of these things could be considered a matter of tastes...

I'm a big fan of all the Witcher series and the first installment probably was the best in my humble opinion. The story as always doesn't disappoint, crafting systems is good but the character tree could have been better and maybe focused more on the combat system. What I really liked is both new stories in the DLCs. This is probably the strongest part of CDPR games.
