Major landmark
I have spent more than 300 hours on this game, and still planning to spend at least that much on a new playthrough with both expansions and some mods. Witcher 3 is simply the best all round RPG you will find on the market for several years (quite possibly until CDPR releases Cyberpunk 20XX). Huge seamless map, deep story, great combat (and there are several mods to tweak it according to your own preferences), and by far the most beaufiful, detailed and realistic world I have seen in the genre. There are lots of things to do, complete freedom of exploration and mostly non linear questing (main quest put aside). The characters are well designed and the game is completely assumed its 18+ rating. The world is bleak, violent and mature. Although a fantasy RPG, it is not by any means a high fantasy RPG setting that has been edulcorated for child audiences. If you haven't played The Witcher 3 yet, you should instantly buy this GOTY edition. It will be totally worth your money, way much more than most other games currently on the market. And if you have never played a Witcher game at all, you should absolutely buy all the serie. It is often available with heavy discounts here on GOG. Even the original Witcher 1 is still very playable even by today standards (I myself replayed TW1 and 2 in 2015 before TW3 release) The only reason you may want not to buy The Witcher 3 is that, after playing this title, a large amount of current and future products of the genre will look dull, empty and ugly. But believe me, it is entirely worth it. Even more so, CDPR is a great game maker and, as a game studio, has great policies. They disserve our support, not only because their games are great, but also to show other publishers the way to go (ubisoft, ea, squarenix to quote the worse).
