Great game

I bought the game shortly after the release of the Next Gen version and I can't complain. It takes a few hours for the game to gain its charm, but then I was blown away and played through it in about 100h. All I can say is "One of the best games I've had the chance to play in a long time." Great graphics and great sweeping story. I only have an AMD 2600X with a 1060 6G and had consistently my 30-40fps at nearly full settings (without raytracing of course). I know what my machine can and can't do and therefore can't understand the people who think they can run everything at 100% with a similar machine and expect 100fps...? Things that you can not see with the human eye and only eat the resources you can easily turn down to >75% and others full on. You just have to know and understand where to turn. I had no crashes except for one (reproducible) exception - at the potion merchant in the last town. Nothing jerked. There were only strange shimmering color edges on the water and partly on the horizon, which I attribute to the old graphics card.

Number one in my heart.

What can I say... The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, including both DLCs, is one of the best games I've ever played. The worst part is that since I first completed the game, no other game has been able to compete in my heart. It's as if everything else is worthless. :D To date, I have logged over 900 hours of gameplay on PC (GOG) and over 150 hours on PS4, and I will definitely play the game many more times in my lifetime. Sure, there are those who condemn the game, saying that they don't enjoy it, that it's too easy, and that it's not like Dark Souls, etc., etc. But that's okay, a thousand people, a thousand tastes. But believe me, in most cases, once you enter the world of The Witcher and get hooked, there's no turning back, and that world will consume you. You'll want to know everything, everyone, and everything about everything. A few years ago, the game received a new "Next-Gen" update, which added new content to the game and improved the graphics, but it also rapidly degraded performance on PC and introduced more bugs. Fortunately, there is still the option to set the game to the last version 1.32 before the update, which I actually prefer, but that's beside the point. In the end, it doesn't matter if you play on PC, PS4/PS5, Xbox One/X Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, version 1.32 or 4.04... It's still the same great game that every gamer and non-gamer should definitely play in their lifetime. :) PS: I actually play it many times just to meet my old "friends."

One of the most massive action RPGs

Witcher 3 + the expansions is a huge huge HUGE game to play. It also offers lots of interesting mini-stories and fairly atmospheric world to discover. The problems with the game are it's fairly simplistic and not well balanced or subtle combat system, extremely simplistic AI and the fact that even though on paper there are lots of different monsters out there, most of them are copies of each other so fighting them does not feel different. Also the main game has quite a lot of filler content.

Utterly baffling

It's not the game itself that baffles me; it's how everyone else seems to think this is the Second Coming of RPGs. Personally, I abhorred it, and I've been enjoying RPGs since the MUD and Ultima days. It's shallow, narratively claustrophobic, still filled with bugs after so many years and a GOTY edition, and the controls are nearly as consolized, abstruse and disobedient as those in a Dark Souls game. I'd *only* recommend this to diehard fans of the prior Witcher games.
