The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Complete Edition

This is one of the few times that the third is the charm, not only the other 2 games are excellent, this is a masterpiece. Play this one at least one in polish, it's flawless.

Unlike near-annual franchises that have copy-and-pasted stories and activities, the developers of The Witcher 3 clearly cared about making a good game. And while every game has its flaws, the product of their care and attention is one of the best role-playing games of this gaming generation. Many characters from previous games return, the graphics are glorious, the writing is sharp and poignant, interface and combat is greatly improved. But there is suddenly a ton of confusing exposition in the final act, and while story side-quests are done well, the average village contract reuses encounter mechanics over and over. Minor complaints in a game the size of The Witcher 3. Hearts of Stone and Blood & Wine are must-buy DLC on the top of this large, richly detailed cake. The Witcher 3 is one of the few games that is worth its list price, but it frequently discounts to $20 during sales, making it one of gaming's best bargains. Total size on my hard-drive (GOTY): 36GB

I'm not overly prone to euphusive reviews, but I think this is a rare exception. I'm currently 160 hours into the main game (only a tiny bit of one DLC done), and I'm loving every minute of it. Which surprises the hell out of me because I spent the first 10-15 hours thinking why the hell did I buy this game. I got sucked into the world, the changing weather, the different enviroments, the people here there and everywhere, and the little random moments that makes the world feel a little alive. The story I find ... so so. Particularly having not played W1 or W2 first. Its okay at best, like most other CRPG's. The game for me is easy, like really easy. I'm on difficulty level 3, currently level 26 and just started act 2. I've 38 unused skill points and no overwhelming desire to spend them. But ... but I'm left wanting to explore further, to see all that there is to see. Novigrad feels like a bustling city. the world feels alive and I really like that.

This is truly one of the greatest RPGs ever made.

Praising this game's virtues will be easy, just look around other reviews - people already told nearly everything I agree with. However I have to take away .5 from the perfection due to lack of combat balance. You will find yourself around level 20 and further shredding through enemies since while progressing all weapons, armors, skills, potions/elixirs etc. will make you way too strong (greetings to these which seen unpacked game files with balance data and their wasted potential - this game could easily overthrow Dark Souls series from challenging games throne and that kind of difficulty could be optional all along). The Witcher 3: Walking Blender (mark my words, even on Death March difficulty).
