What a Journey
Played the first one, it was cool, ecspeially towards the end. Heard about the second one and loved it as well. Then i read all the Books and was ready for the last game. IT WAS PERFECT. apart from all the Great things about this game (and the not so great ones) i just got to give CRPR the BIGGEST probs for the portrail of the Characters. Most of all Yen, Ciri, Emhyr and Regis. CDPR if you read this: Thank you. From the bottom of my heart.

Singleplayer sandbox in peak form.
They've gotten better with each installment, to the point where 3 is as close as one can presumably come to "perfect". Nothing can ever be truly perfect (though it might be in a matter of opinion) but nothing else really stands in the same league in this genre, in my opinion. 1 and 2 had a lot of rough edges, but 2 was significantly better than 1, and 3 even more so. The world building and atmosphere is top of its class, the progression is paced well throughout, the only thing that I'd consider a "flaw" is the potential for too much of a good thing. That is to say, there's an overwhelming abundance of little things to do, which can be ignored if you're so inclined, so it's hard to even hold it against the title; but if you're a completionist then there is a strong chance of feeling overwhelmed by POIs. Over leveling becomes an issue in short order, though this is largely solved in NG+, and the game does have strong replay value. The DLC, as well, is some of the strongest I've played. Both story DLCs are easily in my top ten of all time. If they manage to hold to this level of quality then the future of CDPR games is remarkably bright. If they continue to improve then it's going to be hard for anyone to catch up. This game is a must play for anyone who likes a good singleplayer, sandbox RPG that they can sink countless hours into.

It stands alone in an industry of greed
I played this on PS4 and just had to buy it for my new PC. When my hopes were crushed by the boring narrative game play of fallout 4 and lack of innovation from other RPGs this game was there to provide me with what i needed. It isn't too innovative the ideas presented are things we've seen before, however we live in an era of gaming where the influence of greed has clouded the minds of many video game companies they have lost these ideas and values that still stay true in this game. It is a testament to how anyone can make a good game and still make money without bleeding the consumers dry. I don't mean to get too political but this game came out during the rise of things such as micro transactions and other pay to win features that have become common place today. This game feels nostalgic in the sense you can tell it was made with care and attention to detail, where the game play matters most. Now this game isn't for everyone, The game is a slow burn at least for me it took 12 hours before it really hit me. It was a sudden moment where i realized what this game was about which isn't something I've felt before. So keep in mind that you should really play this for a while before making your decision. I fell in love with it and I'm sure anyone who enjoys narrative RPGs will too. The combat is a bit repetitive but it can be supplemented with potions and crafting rare weapons, which is nice. The quests were made with lots of care to detail. its like they read tons of really good books and poems and found a way to implement the messages and ideas from those medias into the game, I give it a 5/5 for being creative when the industry wasn't, being consumer friendly with free DLC, and because of the star wars reference.

My favourite video game
The game has received plenty of awards and praise, which I most definitely agree with. This game pretty much redefined what to expect from an open-world game. Not only does it provide you with a gargantuan open-world, filled to the brim with interesting, fun activities, but also stories about humans (and nonhumans), where every small character here feels like an actual sentient being with their own life. The open world isn't actually continuous as one might expect, but consists of several areas. That being said, some of those areas rival full-fledged open-world games. This type of segregation of the world really allows for more freedom in storytelling and allows you to see more of what the world of The Witcher has to offer. And the game truly is beautiful, with regards to both technology and atmosphere. It also has excellent sound design with one of the best video game soundtracks ever created. And regarding the story, I'll avoid any specifics about it. But it provides a satisfying conclusion to the Witcher saga, games and books included. The switch the open world was rather positive for the storytelling, contrary to many other games which make the switch either due to lack of ideas or to fit a trend. Your actions still have consequences, and pretty big at that. The decision-making that these games always took pride in is as strong as ever, and you will make a choice, only to regret it 10 hours later. I loved the type of freedom you get in doing your quests. The freedom is not just in the open world, but in the way you can go about missions, truly immersing you in the game. I've seen many people criticizing the combat, but I'll disagree with them. It might not be perfect (parrying is very clunky IMO), but it truly captures what it's like to be a witcher. Plenty of enemy types, with the classic "silver for monsters, steel for humans" tactic. Does the game have any issues? Perhaps, but none bothered my experience in a major way. 10/10 from me. Without a doubt.
