Nice storytelling, but tons of bugs

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt would have been a contender for 5 stars, because the game has potential. The map is huge and especially the story telling is first class even for PRG games. Unfortunately, many annoying bugs disturb the flow of the game again and again. This especially affects dealers in the game, with whom you can't interact, in whose menu you get stuck or who just appear or disappear at will. Stuck is also the problem of the game character. Gerald and his horse "Roach" constantly gets stuck on fences or boundaries embedded in the ground. This is especially bad if you gets stuck in stalagmites in the cave during a boss battle, with no chance of freeing yourself. Although there is a workaround for all bugs. But I expect a game to be bug free after so many updates in version 1.32. I still give 4 stars despite the insolence of CD Projekt Red to have released such a bugged game at all.

The game is cool, but it would be even cooler if you added a Ukrainian localization.

Best gaming experience ever

I am so gratful to CD Project Red for giving me so much pleasure to play this game. Unlike many other games this masterpiece filled with so many meaningful side quests. The story behind every side quest even for the smallest one gives food to your imagination and repetitiveness becomes a pleasure. This is a rare example when DLCs are worth every dollar. I recommend this game to everyone I know. Im going to give it some time before my third playthrough. Thank you CDProjectRed.

Best Game As of 2020

I'm an old school RPG player. When I look back at "game changer" releases in chronological order, I point to the original SSI gold box games in the 80's, Diablo and D2 in the 90's and 2000. Morrowind/Oblivion/Skyrim, and then Witcher III. I am almost embarrassed to say how many hours I've spent on this game and it's expansions. 2000 hours is a full work year in the US and I'd guess I have at least that many hours into the Xbox One version. I actually bought my Xbox One just because it ran so much smoother on console than it did on my gaming PC at the time. For me, I am single-player campaign type of guy, so I LOVE the direction CDPR has taken the genre. It's currently the best game out there and that's saying something given that it's about 5 years since it was released.

Without a Doubt One of the Best

I had to purchase a Mac for work last year and, otherwise lacking a PC, ended up buying an external GPU enclosure to be able to play games like this one. I forced myself to start with the first two games for the story and experience even though I had a pretty good idea that this one was the crown jewel. I'm happy that I did because both games have their merits, but loading Witcher III for the first time was a special moment in gaming for me. It compares to moments like leaving Midgar for the first time in Final Fantasy VII, or getting underway in Fallout 3 and New Vegas, that feeling of excitement at entering a world of choices and not knowing exactly what to do first. From there, Witcher 3 only gets better as the game unfolds. It met and exceeded every little compelling snippet I'd heard about it over the years from friends, which thankfully were spare and entirely free of spoilers. I first played the game almost exactly a year ago and I'm trying to force myself to wait just a little longer to play it a second time, just so that I might forget a few more details and have it feel new again. If you somehow have waited longer than I did to experience this game and this type of open world fantasy action role-playing appeals, this is the one against which all others should and will be measured for awhile to come.
