Game of the generation

That's right, I said it. This game is the game of today's generation of gaming. The story telling is amazing. You feel as if everything you do has meaning and this extends to the side quests as well. Unlike most modern open world games, the side quests in this game are all very good and feel meaningful. They have great stories of their own so you are always out looking for more. The main story is quite long but well worth it with some very interesting protagonists and antagonists alike. The world changes by your will. Everything you do will shape what happens next in the story and how it affects main characters and minor characters alike. The combat is full of flow and involves both reflexes and strategy, along with the right tools for the right job. It feels very satisfying, though one minor complaint is that the weapons sometimes don't feel like they have weight to them when swung around. Get this game, it is essential.

Outstanding for most part. Poor final.

Never seen such immersive, realistic game world. Nothing even comes close. Add great graphics and very good gameplay mechanics and it's pure pleasure. Pitty it is spoiled a bit by poor final chapter of main story. It feels detached from first 3/4 of the game, both in terms of story and pacing. Even worst, the final two minutes of the game is complete deus ex machina, which would be ok for a lesser game but feels so low after all that great bigger and smaller narratives witcher 3 offered in earlier parts of the game. Like if so company CEO said at the end of production cycle: ok now lets add some clique cheesy content and superfluous ending. Overall, must play, but prepare for some disappointments.

Almost perfect

9.75/10 Pros: -Gripping Story: even the side quests seemed important -Combat System: difficult but rewarding -Graphics: the world is full of detail -Open World: huge size split up into a few individual areas -Sound: voice acting and SFX are top notch Cons: -Crafting system: seems just a little underdeveloped -AI Pathing: various enemies and NPCs need slight pathing tweaks -Wind Effects: trees become rubber-like in the wind -Swimming: controls need to be refined especially while underwater -Horse: can be difficult to control at times

The Game of a Generation

It really is difficult to oversell this game, it exceeds in every area where most games only attempt one or two. While the game has a fantasy setting, the game itself is a fantasy. Taking into account budget, time and technical limitations The Witcher 3 really doesn't seem viable and yet here it is. I can't recommend this game enough.
