Best. Game. Ever.

So, before I start, Let me clarify that I only review good games, that i really like. (For those thinking that i might be a Fortnite guy, no. If you want a Fortnite guy's opinion go find a review wrote by one. You won't find it here.) So, The Witcher 3 is the best game I have ever reviewed, with Awesome Graphics (Yes with capital letters), that can also be rendered on Potato PCs at a surprisingly smooth 30FPS. It has a Solid and Nice storyline (Yes again with capital letters), and the mechanics are also exactly what you need with no unnecessary stuff (Fortnite guy, if you are still reading this, an example is your totally useless (but a bit fun) emote mechanic). You have the option to do whatever you want in this immersive Open World too, and you can choose how to do it. For example: You want to go to a city, and you have no Fast Travel to go there yet. What to do? Just ride your way with Roach (Your horse) and ignore the environment, or go running and find some enemies to kill and gain levels. Now The Gameplay. The Gameplay is Very Smooth, and animations are also lifelike, and I just can't describe how satisfying wins in fights against many enemies are. Generally for the game, You get a fast horse, a badass character, and a very beautiful world full of alive NPCs, and also has a very HIGH level of detail. It is like there was this game with no Details at all, and the devs just decided to pump the Attention To Detail up to 11. For example, your beard can grow, NPCs find shelter when raining and much, MUCH more. This game has the BEST Gameplay Ever, and if someone tells you a game not made by CD Projekt RED is better don't believe them. No Microtransactions. DLCs that actually have content that matters and aren't just ripped off the main story to make more profit. Conclusion: Some brilliant dev team called CD Projekt RED got a Brilliant idea about a Medieval Trilogy called The Witcher from some books, made a Game Engine that fitted, and with that they made ART.

Personally didn't enjoy it

I greatly applaud the game's developers for all the critical and commercial success that their project received, but I personally found this game to be extremely alienating. To begin with, the controls are very poorly designed. This is a stunningly basic issue: You can't enjoy a game if the controls that you use to interact with the world don't work well. I'd elaborate, but I have limited space, so I'll just say the issue was widespread. Next, the quests are poorly designed. The main quest is just one very long and dry fetch mission, where you're trying to track someone down, meandering from one stale lead to another for the entire game. Moreover, the main story is paced in such a way that you realistically can't proceed unless you complete most of the side-quests first. (You need a LOT of experience in order to be at a high enough level to feasibly tackle the main quest.) So, instead of being a fun way to optionally explore the game world, the side-quests become mandatory and tedious chores. All of this would be palatable if the characters were appealing, but they aren't: I again applaud the game for trying to show moral ambiguity, but it misfires, because the end result is that every character is unlikable. Some characters are vicious soldiers who kill for a cause that they genuinely believe is good, and so on. Even if you end up agreeing with a certain character's murky choices under the circumstances, that still doesn't make the character likable. There was not a single character in the game that I enjoyed interacting with. Lastly, the world is poorly designed. To make a long story short, the map is too small to be truly expansive, but big enough to make all the quests REALLY far apart from each other. This adds to the tedium of completing quests. Making any game is a tough job, and I congratulate the developers for how much praise this game received. I just personally didn't see what most fans and critics saw. My experience was highly negative.

Three is the charm!

If you want to enjoy the trilogy, enjoy it in the order that it came: 1, 2 and 3! Why? Because you will see not only how the story evolves, but the developer too, CD Project Red. It is amazing how good they've become and The Witcher 3 is the proof. I'll give you my points of view, positives and negatives, for this amazing game. ♛ Amazing graphics, enough to demand a powerful graphic card and RAM. ♛ The music, see... it's good, I won't say amazing, but I prefer the core themes from the DLCs rather than the base game's. ♛ The voice acting is superb, like no other. I vow to this class of talent. Charles Dance (Tywin Lannister) is here. ♛ If you like long games, like... LOOOONG games, put your money here. ♛ Lots of details, cameos from the previous games, jokes, references... it's a party in here. CDPR has put a lot of effort in The Witcher 3. ♛ It has subtitles for different languages. ♛ CDPR always puts the game on sale with good offers, you can get it rather cheap many times in the year. ♛ Yes, there is sex. HD sex. ♛ Multiple endings and your choices will matter. ♛ Autosave and cloud saving for your convenience. ♛ Chance to dismember when killing an opponent. ♛ Different levels of difficulty for you. ♛ Long story, heartbreaking in some points. ♛ Shave and cut Geralt's hair different styles. More than in The Witcher 2. ♛ Many armors to try on. ☠ Roach. See... the horse is useful, but lagged my computer many times, specially in the races. ☠ Long game. If you hate giant maps, keep your way, fella'. ☠ Heights can be deceiving. What you see as "a leap" can kill Geralt. Save a lot. ☠ Endregas of any kind, those fuckers are that: fuckers at any level. ☠ You may cross paths with powerful, high level monsters when exploring a low level zone. Be careful. ☠ Ves, you can't romance her... I really wanted to. Or Margarita... or Fringilla. TW3 is the best of the year and the best for many more. Buy it, it's worth it. And get the DLCs, I think they are better than the base.

The best single player RPG I ever played

My experience with Witcher games began 9 years after the release of the first game. I played The Witcher in November 2016 and I followed up immediately with The Witcher 2. I would have started playing Witcher 3 right after, but I did not own the game. In November 2017, it went on sale, on GOG.com, and I purchased the GOTY edition for $19.99. I spent a little over 300 hours playing the main game. This is by far the most time I spent on a single player game. I remember reading some articles leading up to the release of Witcher 3 that this game is going to have a lot of content. I thought it might be filler, and to a small extent this is true, but by and large, I was entertained enough to complete all the side quests in all areas. Since I played on the PC, I had the luxury of upgrading my hardware and installing mods. I started playing this game with my MSI GeForce GTX 1080. The game looked absolutely beautiful. However, at 1440p, I was not able to keep a steady 60FPS with all settings on high. On MSI GeForce 1080Ti, the game was running at well over 60FPS with all settings on high, and there were hardly any dips. It was an amazing experience. This is the best looking RPG I have ever played. I did not play Skyrim yet, so it remains to be seen if Skyrim manages to look better than Witcher 3. I felt that the developers created a fantastic world, and exploration, which is something I enjoy a lot, is rewarded in the game. For the most part, I enjoyed the main quests and side quests. Given the number of side quests, not all of them are going to be excellent, there are some fetch quests here and there, but even some of the most mundane side quests are voice acted, and they make a very sincere attempt to entertain and engage the player. Dynamic weather has a big positive impact on immersion. This combined with the excellent audio make the gameplay experience so much better. Voice acting and dialogue are excellent for the most part. It really got predictable towards the end. The final parts of the main quest felt weak in comparison. The endings were excellent, but the quests leading up to it felt boring to me. There are some mods that make life a lot easier, such as the auto loot mod. The fast travel mod is also handy, but it is best to exercise caution when using it because it can break quests. It is useful when exploring for hidden treasures etc, but do not using when doing any quests, especially when indoors. I thought the combat was excellent compared to the previous games, especially compared to Witcher 1. I do not like how signs have to be equipped before they can be cast...I do not understand the reasoning behind this. There is a mod that will change how this works, but I never installed it because this wasn't a huge issue. The crossbow controls are awful. After every shot, Geralt puts away the crossbow, and its tedious to put the bolt in place and the middle mouse button needs to be held down to take aim. Horse riding is another mechanic that is not fully fleshed out. Holding down shift would make the run, and to make the horse sprint, you would have to double tap and hold Shift. There are plenty of keys on the keyboard that can accomplish this without resorting to the double tap nonsense. Slashing at enemies when on horseback feels sluggish. I am still glad for the addition of the horse in the game, given how big the game world is. In conclusion, The Witcher 3 is the best open world RPG I have played to this date. I would still rate the story of the original Deus Ex higher than this, but the gameplay experience of Witcher 3 has surpassed Deus Ex. + Excellent open world + Smooth combat + Fun side quests + Beautiful visuals + Great soundtrack - Horse controls - Crossbow controls - End game is not as fun Veridct - Must Play
