The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Complete Edition

This game redefined many paradigms of how games are supposed to be made, and supported, ruining most of the excuses made up to this day. Now we also know how this propagated into sales of books and inspired separate show. Story in game itself is a brilliant, vast, and epic, enhanced with quality DLC story expansions. It does a great job at neat and satisfying experience after the books and first two games. Technically it leaves almost no stone unchecked. Everything is voiced, choices made are reflected not only actions, consequences, or dailogues and comments, but also in voice acting and delivery, reflecting emotional states. NPC's have characters and meaning equal to protagonist. I never experienced bugs in the game, as I was late adopter, despite having base game pretty much for free (code included with GPU card). Yes, I heard the stories, but this is long bygones, game got patched up and now is the benchmark upon which every RPG game gets compared to, and CDPR is developer that every other developer gets compared to.

I would give it 7/5 stars if possible. Even with such high rankings, this game is still underrated! This game is not immediate fun, so expect to invest some time into it. But after that, game will reward you as no other. This game puts game development itself on entirely unprecedented new level. I bought this game purely to support good development practices believing i am not the type to have fun playing it. But the more you play, the more you will like it. It punishes quitters and rewards the rest, hence some critical reviews.

Best RPG ever created !!!!!

I have been playing video games since 1999 and this game is easily the best game I ever played. I never enjoyed a game like this before. I %100ed the game from the first playthrough and for sure I will do it again. This game is by far the best RPG game on its generation. No game comes close to it at all. Pros: *Amazing story. Either main or secondary quests, both of them are so amazing. The game have high level of story writing that the DLCs alone can be better than a lot of AAA games stories. *Investing in small details. Details are well presented and it will amaze you how the details are paid attention too. For example the man from the books whom Geralt had a contract with and couldn't pay him cause he disappeared and then you meet him at Toussaint so he tells him that he put his reward at bank account savings all that time. Many other details from the books and first two games are cannon and presented in well which shows how much they put effort on the events and writing. *Diverse combat. Technically combat is considered the weakest point on the game. But its still so great that says a lot about the game on how the weakest point is still so amazing. You can play the game in many different styles, you could easily play 4 playthroughs and you can play all of them with different gear and style. Cons: *Some bugs may be annoying but most of them are fixed at 1.32 and the ones left are non game breaking at all from my experience and they can be solved be re-loading the save. *The destiny of Ciri is decided by calculating points from dialogues between Geralt and Ciri and not by serious decision making on events like "Heart of Stone" and "Blood and Wine". *No Iorveth :'( I would like also to add that to have the best experience its recommended to play Witcher 1 & 2 before playing 3 since playing 1 & 2 after 3 will make you hate 1 & 2 because of how good 3 was.

The enemy of excellence is perfection. Yes, the game has flaws, mainly: 1. New players will have a hard time understanding the premise of the story, I'm 20 hours in and still don't understand it very well, you probably need to read all the available documents but I consider this a flaw, I don't like reading on computer screens that much. 2. Combat system, movements and UI are serviceable, just not great. At least the UI is better than in Death Stranding. 3. A bit of a joke, but I spent 7 hours modding the game, it's an absolute time sink and I ended up with the conclusion that besides better viewing distance, vegetation density and texture quality, nothing else is needed for the game to look absolutely gorgeous. I do wholeheartedly recommend at least the textures, they are an absolute must. The rest, mainly, story, writing, quests and immersion in general are the best I've seen in any game. Every quest I've been on in my first 20 hours of gameplay felt like fully fledged stories with believable caracters, interresting premises and satisfactory resolutions. Every quest I've been on is treated with the same quality as the main story, with attention to detail, twists, humor, drama, even a bit of horror and every resolution feels satisfactory. I never felt 100% immersed and on board with the narative in any game after 20 hours. Usually there's a drop off after the first few hours, that drop off still hasn't come for me here, I hope it never will. In conclusion, I usually don't like role playing games, fiddling with potions, stats, grinding (I HATE grinding) but grind doesn't feel like it in the Witcher 3; everything you do to buff your stats feels purposefull. crafting and potions is easy so that you don't spend an eternity fiddling with it. In short, progression is meaningfull in this game, through the story AND new abilities. I thought I wasted my money buying the expansion packs, but I can see myself finishing it all now and enjoying every bit of it.
