The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Complete Edition

I've played a lot of games during my life (and plan to continue, of course), from various famous titles to some smaller indie titles. It wasn't until a recommendation of my friend to go and try out this game. It changed my life, it changed the way I see entertainment industry and especially the video games. Witcher 3 is at the time of writing this review (5th of July 2020) in my opinon the best example of incredible story writing, world building and character driven RPG out there. From small starting zone of White Orchard to bigger locations like Skellige, Novigrad and Velen in the main game, to Oxenfurt in Hearts of Stone and incredible, one of the best looking area in any video game, Toussaint, a fairytale land and much much more. Witcher 3 changed my view on entertainment media - I am trying to become a part of this industry and movie industry. I've always liked good stories with amazing characters (good or bad) and Witcher 3 brings all of this and sometimes twists it in a way you couldn't have seen it coming. If you're reading so far into my vary vague review, here's the most important part - should I play this game? If you love good stories, well made characters and extremely detailed worlds ... don't even question it. Do yourself a favor and play this game. Experience the story, the characters, the art. Go and enjoy! You will never forget this, you'll come back to it in the future and it will change your view on video games. Even though it has some smaller cons when it comes to gameplay, they're so neglible that the game shouldn't deserve anything less than a title of masterpiece.

What can I say that has not been already said. This game is just a great journey made by people who love video games and are making games for the gamers having the best experience. Nothing else can be said other than if you love the genre this game falls in, then you will LOVE this game.

***FULL DISCLOSURE*** - I am writing this review while only about 6 hours into the game. Having read so many insanely glowing reviews, I absolutely had to snatch this up when I saw the GOTY edition on sale here for $15. And so far, all I can say is WOW, the reviews were spot on. A quick breakdown of my impressions thus far: GRAPHICS - Utterly gorgeous. The first rendered cutscene with Geralt and Vesemir was shocking in it's almost movie-like quality. I had to stop for a moment and and simply admire the scenery when I came upon a stunning sunset as I crested a hill on horseback. The character models and expressions are some of the best I've yet seen in a game. Only the water effects leave maybe a bit to be desired, but that's nitpicking. AUDIO - Outstanding. The voice-acting is top notch, and the music and sound effects complement the visuals perfectly. CONTROLS - I am using an x-input controller and the controls, as well as the UI, are fantastic. All of the menus are arranged to emphasize ease of access. Inventory and character management are handled extremely well, and combat is fluid and intuitive. GAMEPLAY - So far, so good...oh so good. The tutorial system is helpful while not being overbearing, and the story thus far is engaging and gives the player a true sense of purpose beyond simple "fetch this" and "kill this" tasks. The NPC's are well fleshed-out (some more than others - I'm looking at you Tomira), and help give the game world a strong identity. If you haven't grabbed this game before now, do yourself a huge favor and grab it while it's on sale. Fifteen bucks is an absolute STEAL for this game, whether or not you're a typical RPG fan, and whether or not you've played the previous installments.

With a truly captivating main storyline, tons of side quests, fantastically written characteres and a huge, open world to discover The Witcher 3 is the best RPG I've played to date. The GOTY version is worth at least a couple of hundred gaming hours. Really, the best thing is the massive wealth of story and conversation content and some pretty satisfying battles - try clearing out the Hanse bases in B&W. Unfortunately, the NG+ feature is useless, the item economy could have been designed better / more realistically and sometimes the movement meachanics are a bit buggy... but overall, TW3 is an awesome RPG now (2021) often available for just a few bucks.

My experience with the witcher 3 started off sour I kept hearing how amazing it was so I got it and stopped playing but I kept seeing the best so I tried it again and once I made it past the first 10 hours the game took off and was amazing I couldn't stop playing The DLC are amazing too. This is one of the few games I have over 300 hours in.
