Not perfect, but very close
Yes. The Witcher 3 is an amazing game. Everyone and their grandma has talked about this and praised it as the best modern RPG of the decade/century/ever. And I, for once, have to agree. It is surely one of the best RPGs I´ve ever played. The narative is amazing, the story is awesome. Yes, we all know. But I would like to talk about (minor) flaws of this game instead. If you are a completionist, this game is going to became very easy soon. If you are like me and like to explore the world, finish most of the sidequest or just travel and fight what enemies you find on the way, halfway through, you will find yourself 5-7 levels ahead of the recommended levels for story and side quests. And even if you enable level upscaling of enemies, some encounters will become very boring as time goes on. I just don´t like the way the game handles leveling and it´s kind of forcing you to not finish everything on your first playthrough and then play the other half on NG+. And I kind of get why, but I don´t like it. The combat is somewhat simplistic. Yes. I´ve said it. If you´ve played Dragon Dogma, Nioh or other action RPG, combat of the Witcher will seem kind of... shallow. Not at first, but after a few hours I found out that the combat of the Witcher is more like combat in Batman games. Just mash two buttons (one after you level up eighter light or heavy attack) and you are good to go. Throw in some Signs, that are all very strong and can end your fight instantly. But overall, the story, main quests and sidequest are very good storywise. So good that I even cannot compare it to other modern RPGs. The world seems very alive and is filled with interesting details that make up great stories if a person pays close attention to them. Very fun game that makes it´s mainstream concurency shallow and boring (looking at you, Skyrim).
