The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

Finished leisurely in 25 hours and this is by far the best RPG I've ever played. Its story writing is top notch (novel like; which is obviously one of the most important aspects about a long haul RPG) with very engaging main plot with masterfully interwoven subplots that influence one another and respond to your choices and then affect the world around you. . The characters are excellently portrayed and voice acted and really feel alive which endears you to them ( first time since mass effect series that I cared about the characters fate). Without mentioning any spoilers there are many truly memorable bittersweet emotional moments in this game which play on your heart strings. Just like previous Witcher games there is a grey morality action and consequence system with later unexpected repercussions depending on your choices; this truly is an RPG that responds to your choices with 3 different playable epilogues with hundreds of sub variations for the ending meaning the replay ability value is vast. The only story improvements I would have liked would have been there ability to meet in game characters at the end of the game when its still open world otherwise its very lonely wandering around the map. Also depending on who you romance during the main plot it would have been nice to have had a bit more romantic closure at the end (a cut scene or two rather than just voice over) otherwise it can feel a bit abrupt The gameplay is fresh and engaging without being repetitive, the world is a truly MASSIVE open world that rewards exploration and questing (no repetitive fetch quests here), and the graphically options on the PC mend bendingly comprehensive and rewarding. Ultimately a masterpiece. Lastly I continue to be impressed by the genuine conscientious approach to game development that a small company like CDPR has pioneered, towards fairness and quality in the industry. No money grabbing poor quality half finished product producing by massive corporations here but a really commendable attempt and developing at supplying a top notch product. THANKS CDPR!

A must play, and perfect way to spend time indoors during covid lockdown. Who hasn't already played the Witcher 3? Maybe that's you and if you're stuck at home, do yourself a favor and buy, install and play this brilliant masterwork of a game. I hadn't bothered when it first came out, as was more of an elder scrolls guy at the time. Picked it up on a sale and was one of the best 'value-for-money' purchases ever. While it's hard to avoid saying what others have already stated, here are my views: Pro's -Incredible lore, based on a series of excellent fantasy book. Incredible writing, storyline and voice acting. -Perfect characters, believable and fully developed - really sucks you into the world. -Wide ranging environment, huge game world. -Quality, quality, quality throughout, even side quest and random items feel special and worthwhile. -Some of the best feels ever in an RPG. No spoilers, but I laughed, cried, felt fear/concern and disgust at certain parts of the game. -The DLC (Blood and Wine, Hearts of Stone) is arguably better than the main game, and B&W ranks up there as best RPG ever. Con's -Third person POV is different (not better or worse) that what you may be used to if an elder scrolls fan boi. -Some landscapes can look a bit familiar or repetitive - but are still breath-takingly gorgeous! -Can lose days playing through all the side quests if you'r'e a completionist, not sure that's a con??? Summary: Play the damn game already. If you've played it, then start a new game and play it a different way (with different storyline choices / character build). has a very good story along with graphics that still hold up till today! I'd recommend getting it due to it's beautiul world and amazing game mechanics, along with amazing OST!

I was doing a lot of nice things in my life. I traveled with hobbits to Mordor. I visited a few towns with Stephen King (I liked Derry and Salem especially). I watched a few good movies (no place to list all here). I met some great people. I ate great food and drunk some decent wines. I saw some great, great landscapes. All of those are great experiences. The last for now is story of Geralt and Ciri. Gosh, this world... I wish I could walk by the shores of Skellige or through the forests of Velen. Valhalla could look like one of these ;) And the story. For me it was a story of what a parent could do for his child. That gave me a lot of thinking about what we should love in our lives. What is important. I was diagnosed with cancer yesterday. I'm happy I took a travel with Geralt :) Enjoy every day, folks. This game will add some enjoyment in yours life. 10/10
