The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings Enhanced Edition

I will keep it short, this game features probably the best voice acting and story development that I have ever seen, in line with any other cd game. However I must say that the studio failed terribly with the gameplay. It is clunky, repetitive, lacks any sort of control or polish, you get his and receive no damage feedback, the save system is absolutely horrible and leaves you to repeat the same area over and over again as you cannot save mid gameplay. Honestly I would have given a 5 star if the fighting and gameplay were steller but they just aren't

If you can install in linux it is nice, apart from the dice in the game I'm loser! since it is some ubuntu back (we're at 20.04), why not create the witcher packages in Appimage or Flatpak ... even Snap to the Limit! universal formats, which have all their dependencies internally and which will also be usable for other linux and future versions of ubuntu.

My coolest videogame moment was when I replayed this game for the first time, choosing a diferent option at the end of Act 1. The story is really complex. If you pay attention and have some knowlege of the books this game starts to click and really make sense. And I can't explain how incredibly it feels. If you know nothing of the books you are "roleplaying" as amnesia Geralt ( or Witcher 1 Geralt), and you will be able to enjoy quite a lot of the game. BUT if you have some knowlege of the books you beguin to feel like post-amnesia Geralt ( Witcher 2 Geralt) and things starts to make sense. I don't know if it was intentional or pure luck, but it is a pretty cool way to reward you if you are paying attention to the story or even read the books. The most ambitious game I ever played, even if it falls short in some areas. Definitely worth it! P.S.: If you do buy it, please complete the game more than one time. Choosing Yorveth (non-humans) and BRoach ( humans) path. You will not regret it =)

Edge of seat, heart pounding stuff Complex quest choices with major consequences Upgraded combat, with an excellent parry system and throwable weapons Improved inventory system, better crafting system, deep conversation options End game weapons and armour are magnificent Will further cement the source of all the evil, pain and suffering in that world Modded, levelled up combat is glorious fun Enter houses, loot everything in broad daylight Quicktime difficulty settings option for those annoying arm wrestling games Geralt can meditate anywhere and alchemy does not consume time now Excellent soundtrack Cons: Annoying timed conversations Game crashes frequently as the number of save files increases. I had about 30 CTDs Loading times increase exponentially Terrible selling prices in shops The best daggers in the game cannot be crafted Forced seggs with Triss in the very beginning of the game. Once again this series ignores my choices Absolute chore to play without mods. The game is so stingy with talent points I thoroughly levelled up Geralt in Witcher 1. He has no skills in Witcher 2. I have played all three witcher games over the years. Witcher 2 is the hardest of the three to interact with the game universe. Like Witcher 1, it has a linear plot progression. There is very little of the wide open, do what you want freedom of Witcher 3. It does however have a good story line and a lot of action to keep you busy.
