The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings Enhanced Edition

This game is boring. It seems to have equal parts cut scene and game play which is no good because it means the gameplay isn't good enough to tell a story so they had to put in cut scenes. Also the voice acting is pretty meh... Another problem is the main character is super stoic which makes for the most boring thing in the world. I want to follow the story of a character who feels something. As for the gameplay: the fighting is ok. It's fun to run around and kill copious amounts of people. But what really drives me crazy is the spells. They all have weird names for basic spells. For example, one of the spells shoots a fireball. But instead of being called "fire", or "fireball" so you could set it to the "f" key its called like asd0ipjdm which doesn't mean anything and I can't remember what it does or what key it's assigned too so I never bother to learn what it is. It seems that too much time was spent on adding extra crap to this game like crafting and gathering herbs and junk and no one bothered to think about how boring and difficult the basic gameplay was. Pass on this one for sure.

It´s 2020. This game still looks kinda good, some mods make it a tad better, but there´s something off. Controls are weird, graphics are fast/slow like those 90´s games that dont work well in modern systems. I really tried to play it but can´t. I´m off to Witcher 3 without finishing this one first. I´ll watch some Youtube videos to fill the gaps.

Bad combat, poorly structured and with enough cut-scenes to warrant that the game director is awarded an honorary Palm D'Or for being a coward and being the sodding film director they've always dreamed of being. I am constantly amazed at the praise heaped on this series when once you strip away the graphics and movie-pretentions throughout the gameplay is crap and it feels like you're always getting a pile of quests and items puked on you for no discernable reason other than to distract you from the irrelevance of story and the limitations placed on your movement and character. Speaking of character, did Geralt just speak or did someone throw a cardboard box with a grumpy face scrawled on the side onto a duck and record it with an old tape recorder for added crackle?

Ok so I cant wait to play it and today/tomorrow I get my first chance to do just that. However A quick word about the collectors edition. I like many, appreciate Digital Downloads, but dont like them in all cases. I just got my Witcher 2 Boxed Collector Edition and WOW am I happy its not digital download. The Art book is lovely, the sculpture is nice, all the coins and dice etc add a lot to the value of the set. Its only when you ge to the Maps and the game itself where I can see Digital Download working. To Recap - Love Love Love the box set and so glad I held back from the digital
