I don't usually pre-order games - I wait for them to go on some huge Steam sale or something. I think the last game I pre-ordered was Civ III. But I pre-ordered The Witcher 2 because (a) The Witcher was a great game, and (b) I love a company that respects its customers enough to not force them to endure nasty DRM schemes that fail to prevent piracy anyway. That's called building up the good will of your customers,and it's worth rewarding. So, everyone, buy this game! And CD Projekt? Thank you!

I went with digital download for the first time because of the previous reviews, price decrease and the ability to play immediately instead of waiting for the game to come to my town (in the High Arctic). Game: So far, it has a great story line but I am having problems with graphics. Have not heard back from anyone on my request for assistance. Download: Well, the downloader worked no problem on my windows XP machine. No problems at all. However, that is a totally different story on my Windows 7 machine. I still do not have it on this machine. Redownloaded the downloader, redownloaded the game, everything. Nothing worked. Sent 3 requests for assistance but no response as of yet and that was on the 17th. I know that with a new game, all takes time, however, I have never had problems like this prior. GoG. I am sure you are a great company and you care, however, you do not make it easy to find assistance via searches nor do you respond to assistance (in my case, anyway). Give the game a 4.0 out of 5 and GOG a 2.0 out of 5.

I started with Witcher 1 and bought Wichter 2, because I realy enjoyed #1. #2 is a completely different experience and much to the worse so in comparison to #1. What I hate most - beside a troublesome combat system and an absolutely foolish hoarding of enemies - is, that one is constantly told to to this and to that - endlessly. There is no enjoying the great graphics or leisurly walking the surroundings - one task follows the other in a sequential way and the combat sessions seem to be the main reason for the game and not the story itself. Fighting is mostly against many enemies at once and the combat system is akward. One is constantly reloading and trying anew. I have played this kind of games since many years and I'm really pissed of at the difference between this "sequel" and #1. This is not the game one expects if one has played #1 - instead it is something quite different. I feel cheated by the makers of this follow up.
