The only horror you will find in this game is the truth: a blow to the solar plexus, much more intense than any supernatural presence
The Town of Light is a psychological adventure told in the first person. The story is set in Italy in the first half of the 20th Century in a place which really existed and has been meticulously reconstructed. Exploring and interacting with the environment you will relive the history of the main character through her confused viewpoint and on the basis of your choices, the story will develop in different ways.
Because of its contents, the game is intended only for adult users.
Martha Is Dead is a dark first-person psychological thriller, set in 1944 Italy, that blurs the lines between reality, superstition and the tragedy of war.

The game has many emotions, like waves in an ocean during a storm. Very dark subjects, so trigger warning for those! But overall, I completly recommend this!!
The narrative kept me guessing and wanting to dig further and further to reach the climax of what is essentially a blisteringly dark story of a broken woman's survival in a world that has afforded her no choices of her own. While I belive there is only one endeding to the game, the decisions you make completely shape the reality of the character's story, putting the player in the seat of controlling the character's perception of reality. This was quite refreshing. Controls are easy to grasp, length of the game is about perfect, there's a dedicated help system if you need it, game runs great even on lighter hardware, and the attention paid to small details in the audio mixing creates an emersive atmosphere that is nigh unbreakable. There is even a little post game treat :)
I get it: first game, baby steps, rough around the edges, yada yada.
But for how little there's actually to do in this game, in terms of interaction, the developers could have at least bothered to optimize it a little bit or even make sure it ran properly: got stuck in the boiler room on chapter 6, with no way of turning the damn thing on (the last step of the puzzle, pressing the button, simply does not register). It seems to be a problem on the Switch port too and, knowing my own luck with this kind of stuff, I hope I just got the short end of the stick in the "glitch roulette". Still, it was very disappointing and what ultimately drove me to uninstall the game.
That and the need to rely on a guide from the first flashback on, after waking up at the bathtub, because, apparently, "aimlessly wandering around with no clue on where to go next (looking at the journal did not help), hoping to notice ONE door that suddenly opened on its own did not turn out to be my cup of tea.
I hope someone else will enjoy this game more than I got to do and wish the developers best of luck for future projects. Nevertheless, I don't think that a great story justifies such a poorly made experience.
Sotry is perfect, also the ambient and I feel like Reneè, I was Reneè.
There is some problems with fluidity, sometimes games freeze to load the environment, except this problems I found the game sometimes without explanations and feel lost like you will never end the game.
