Holy Cheese

This game is beautifully done and on such a serious topic as well. The story is heartbreaking and though I haven't finished the game yet, I'm completely in love with the work the Devs have done with this. Though, I will add if mental health is a trigger for you this game does a fantastic job of demonstrating how horribly some things were in the earlier 1900s when it came to mental health and psychological challenges. This game made me cry and need a hug. I love it.

This game was very distrubing

I do not know whether to recommend the game or not. One the one hand, the game tells the history of mental healthcare patients, from the story of a patient, during the time of World War II. While there is some artistic licence to tell the story, the procedures and treatments are historically accurate. On the other hand, this game, and the story, are very triggering, horrorific, and can be re-traumatizing. There are scenes with explicit descriptions of abuse, mental, physical, sexual. Likewise, there are 'medical' procedures performed, sometimes described but not shown, other times shown explicitly. Those who do not know history are doomed to repeat it. For this reason alone, I recommend the game. Know humanity's past. Monsters come in all shapes, sometimes even in doctor's robes.

Very intense but incredible experience

So Much Potential Wasted

This game felt really insincere. The first act was great, but I hated how slow the character moved, but it just went downhill the closer to the finish line I got. There was one scene that genuinely made me uncomfortable but besides that from the start of Act Three, I felt like I was doom scrolling on my phone through cutscenes rather than being engaged with the story. This game feels as though it is trying to emulate other walking sim games like Gone Home. I was told there are multple endings, but I can't make myself care enough to dredge through this game multiple more times to do so. The instructions were unclear--especially in the brief segments where you are given actual choices. Instead of suggesting if a choice is good or not, vague imagery flashes on the screen. I would recommend this if it was heavily discounted or a freebie from places like Prime Gaming when they give away GOG games every few weeks/months.
