Description
Thus begins your adventure within the Realm of Greyhawk. It is an adventure that will lead to the source of a deep and abiding mystery, to the very core of evil itself.

An evil demoness founded a cult dedicated to exploring evil in its most elemental forms. This cult was based in a temple just outside the village of Hommlet in a vile shire known as Nulb. Soon, this cult rose to rule the region with tyranny and grim times of chaos and violence ensued. Hard-fought battles were waged and the war was eventually won by the good armies of nearby lands. The temple was razed, the villains were imprisoned, and order was restored. The temple itself faded into distant memory. Until now...

So much potential.

This is probably the best and truest DnD game ever made, the combat is perfect in every single way. But it is very, VERY obvious that the developers ran out of money halfway through the game. You first town you visit is has a ton of side quest and interesting characters. The second town feels completely empty. And when you finally reach the Temple of Elemental Evil, the whole quest is over in a couple of hours, less if you know your way around the temple. And the ending is pretty much; "hey here is this quest, looks like any other quest, NOPE! its actually the ending which we didn't set up at all! Sorry but we didn't have enough money to actually make an ending" Such a shame. I've anyone ever decided to make a spiritual squeal, I would buy it in a heartbeat.

Good cRGP with mods

This is a very good cRPG with fantastic turn-based combat and a good implementation of D&D 3rd edition ruleset. Just be aware that you will need to apply a couple of mods to be able to play this game properly: Circle of Eight and Temple+. The vanilla game is not worth it: the bones of a great RPG are there, but the original version was very buggy and unpolished, also the developers made some strange decisions like a very low level cap for our characters and some things like that ... I prefer to play at least once the original version of a game before I start modding it, but in this case I wouldn't recommend it: just go straight to the modded version which is far superior to the vanilla one. That said, the game is really fun and dense: it's very combat-centric but that's okay because combat in this game is a joy, with tons of possibilities and high replayability.

Turn Based Combat at its best..

The reason I like this game so much is that each battle needs some planning, and thus the party you create needs a lot of thought.. and thus ;)... its a thinking mans D&D game..very absorbing... wonderfully slow paced which I prefer.. and very faithful to 3.5 rules which had just been released. So the money I saved on Antara went here ;)

great game

Best 3.5 crafting, story and character creation in any D&D game hands down. To those who down rate the game just does not know about circle of the eight and their wonderful added content and fixes, the game will keep you for awhile!!!

Temple of Elemental Awful

Hackneyed story with minimal exposition of what's going on and why you should care. NPC cohorts are dull in every sense - ineffective in combat, they make poor equipment choices (you can't control them) and they have no interesting background or dialogue. Everything is spread annoyingly far apart, even the initial town, so doing local quests is an agonizing and tedious chore. I found the combat to be slow, sticky and inorganic, and far too many bugs even after patching. Skip this one.
