Has a very specific audience
Game does a very poor job explaining (communicating) what it wants from you. Graphics look fine in general, but kind of washed out and lacking contrast. I almost immediately got an aversion to it and am unhappy I gave my money for it.

Great game, poor map design
I was really going to lose my mind in cathedral but overall, the game was a enjoyable experience as a whole especially the last boss The fight was very unique and thrilling and definitely a lot more polished than the first surge

Quite ok
The controls of The Surge 2 take a bit of getting used to (I play with a Microsoft controller), but the ideas of targetting certain body parts and directional blocking are innovative and original. The game punishes you harshly for making small mistakes, and by now I have probably died more often than I actually managed to kill an enemy comfortably. Most fights are hard and you struggle winning. The boss fights are hellish and you certainly need to practice them before you will manage. Given that the controls take a bit, moving around in a way that will eventually beat a boss is not easy at all. The camera has some weird movements when you are in tight areas which renders beating enemies impossible. Best to quickly move outside and kill opponents there. In general I think the game looks good, but the light is a little weird, probably too intense all over. It does not bother me too much, but it makes me wonder how the game would have looked with correct lighting. I have played this game for about 5 hours now and start to get beast under control and enjoy it.

Ive read about vulkan crashes and im happy to say i didnt got a single crash , game run solid 60 fps maxed out without any problems (gtx 1080ti , i7 7700k, 32gb ram) Just finished the game with the dlc , and long story short if you like the first game you will like this one (like me) , the game is a maze , i felt confused but after a while i memorized most of the map , i encountered 29 gear sets and 69 different weapons on my playthrough (maybe there is more stuff) , as the first game there are full 6 piece bonuses or 3 piece bonuses , so there are plenty of combinations to play with there are plenty of drone mods as well. There are different enemy types whats effective against one type will not be effective against other types this is where loadouts come in handy , you can save your gear and implants in different loadout slots. As far as the combat goes , pretty sick as usual , smooth movement , each weapon has different movements and forced me to change playstyle accordingly. If you like to use drones , there are drone enhancing implants and gear sets. One of the annoying things is some parts of the game you will have to fight a bunch of big npc in thight places where you cant manuever , at that point the game becomes a hack and slash but nothing nothing game breakng that prevented from enjoying it, music is beautiful depending on the area it can evoke blade runner sound track or futuristic ambien sounds which are difficult to describe. The dlc i did it after i finished the last boss (rolled back my save) at that point i had maxed out gear which made the dlc a bit easier but nonetheless it was fun (maybe a bit short in my opinion). I was excited to get it and gog offered the best price for the premium edition , one of the best games ive played i see a bright future for the surge and deck 13, cant wait to see whats next !!
