Underrated Settlers game
I'm a fan of the settlers series since the first title, and while I share the nostalgia of many for Settlers 2, I have to say 6 might be my favourite. It's just absolutely lovely to settle on these gorgeous maps; the seasons are also a nice gameplay element to handle within a building game

The best Settlers.
Rise of an Empire is probably the most complete game of the series. Gameplay and visuals are good and easy to learn. It includes new unique features in comparison with the other Settlers, mainly the heroes system, which works great. The campaign is long enough and can get challenging at times. Soundtrack is one of my favorites in all gaming. However, there can be some esporadic technical issues and lack of textures quality partially ruins the experience. All in all, the game is feels beatifully and carefully crafted. Buy it on discount.

nice game with some bugs
nice game with some bugs. sometimes it is difficult to complete the missions because not explained well, e.g. a button is placed into the quest notes instead of the storehouse to send some products to a village, and sometimes it even becomes impossible without restarting, because some features are restricted in the campaign... otherwise it works fine until you press Alt+TAB, when all is lost, black screen and the provided solution (a cmd/powershell command) by GoG does not help, at least for me...

Not so great game as it seams on 1 look.
The most problematic is game's engine that can destroy your graphic card tring needlessly generate hundreds of fps (yes that game doesn't have vsync). So if you want play I suggest cap limit fps in Nvidia/AMD panel for this title turning forced vsync. You think about some realism but for strange reason all Settlers magically recived all needed tools. Also placing walls is inconvinient.

Slow paced, relaxed and Settlers!
Ok, so on the whole, enjoyed this. Slow paced, never too difficult and realxing to play. Works find one Windows 11. Installs the base game and seperately the expansion. Reson for knocking two stars off is that it breaks with an Alt-Tab. Or if windows minimises the game for any reason. And with a lack of auto-save, for someone like me who forgets to save, that's two hours down the drain. Wait for a sale. It's ok.
