It's not called Gold for nothing
After all these years, this game is still the mother of the whole genre. Playable, enjoyable etc. even in 2025. For only a couple of Euros, this is a no brainer.

True trip of nostalgia
As a middle aged man, this is something of a memory lane for me. I've played this game in the late 90's to early 2000's and circling back gives me much relaxation. I can assume that this does not resonate with younger people, but who cares?

Endless classic
I've played this game since it came out in the mid 90's. I had a dodgy copy back then which kept crashing every five minutes or so, but that didn't keep me from playing the game. And I still play it (now with the GoG version that doesn't crash). If that doesn't say something about the fun factor of this game, I don't know that does.

The most awesome classic strategy game ever - but the GOG version unfortunately makes my mouse stop working after maybe two hours of play. I have to save a lot!
