Honestly, I felt with the graphic update it lost most of its charm.

"Look behind you, it's a three headed Monkey!". No one falls for that old trick now, do they? Their bad, because a real 3 headed Monkey appeared in this game, once! This is a tribute, a proper remake! It's how they should do things! Although the original Dos, 8-bit sound of nostalgia is no more, still, they have done a pretty decent job on this title, plus voice acting! And they practically offer TWO games for the price of ONE! The old, and the new, with only one button's press transition! Adventure Lovers! Point and click Lovers! Randomness and Prank Lovers! Hilarious Fun and Humor Lovers! Troll Lovers, AND Pirate Lovers! Ahoy there, grab this loot NOW, but make certain you do not pick it up from underneath a ladder, har har... This is a one time masterpiece of a game, and together with Broken Sword series, the BEST representatives the adventure genre ever offered to us (and Gabriel Knight, sorry, and Myst, doubly sorry). A cult classic, full of humor, swordplay, and epic randomness, the kind of which only a dude named "Guybrush Threepwood, can ever offer. Those of you who haven't played it, SHAME on you. Those of you who don't buy it, now that it is remade too with better graphics, DOUBLE shame on you. And those of you who don't decide to buy it here, from GoG, DRM-Free and all, TRIPLE SHAME on you, because you will deserve it fully (for how many years have we been nagging and asking politely for lucasarts to turn GoG into a proper Scumm Bar TM?). Grog, check, lights off, check, not to buy a ship at Stan's used shipyard...

Very good remake of a excellent game, the only problem is it wont work with nvidia drivers 369.05 and above, not sure about radeon cards. Problem occurs with monkey island 2 also. You will have to roll back to previous drivers to make this work Please GOG bring out a patch for this problem thanks.

I've heard a lot about this game but didn't play it until recently. The adventure games I remember playing while growing up where games like Myst, Carmen Sandiego, and Sanitarium. I can't believe I missed this one. Don't like the remake? Hit F10 to switch seamlessly between the remake and classic version during the game. I just wish you could get the updated audio and voice acting with the classic graphics and interface, but I'm not going to take off a star for that. If I had to rate the remake alone, I'd give it 3 stars. I feel like they could have done a better job with the interface and animation.

Loved the original, love the remake. The possibility of switching between old/new graphics and UI is really cool. Artwork is great and in my opinion is as closest as they could get to the original. UI can be a bit clumsy at certain points (grog mugs part) but it most certainly isn't a deal-breaker.
