Pay 30 bucks for a game that's hardly working in the first place, to experience the worst aspects of OT2, 3 and 5, without a single good element from either of those versions of the classic.
No, but seriously, it's almost admirable someone is asking 30 bucks for a game that STILL didn't fix the UE4 bug, two years after the game premiered and been panned to death all around the net for shoddy programming and zero bug fixes
Major rip off. 2 years after release the bugs remain unaddressed.
We all played Oregon Trail in elementary school, dl the original game for a much better experience.
As someone who played the original when it was new, I was excited to see a 50% off coupon in my email. Honestly, $15 bucks is too much for any Oregon Trail reboot. Especially if it still has bugs in it from its release.
Way to exploit the nostalgia of a generation of gamers. Too bad that same generation is the one that seems less inclined to accept this kind of crap.
Surprised they didn't try to make it a subscription based mobile game. Maybe that's its next DLC.
I was excited to try a new version of an old favourite game.
I found this game is simply too difficult and is more frustrating than fun.
A good example is river crossings, in the classic game as long as you are smart about fording when the river is a certain depth, or caulk/floating when the river is higher, you can typically avoid accidents.
In this game, you have to try to plug holes in your wagon with pelts that are hard to come by.
The result is a river crossing almost always causes catastrophic damage to your supplies and party.
Just play a classic version instead, a 'good old game' indeed!
Good fun game, but this is really a $9.99 game... Trying to bank off of people's Nostalgia for old games is just a Greedy Business Tactic... Yes it's awesome you added some graphics to a mostly text based game, but come on, 30 bucks, really??? Not too mention it's been out how long now, Years, and you still have yet to fix the bugs within it...
Greed does not look good on any Indie Developer and when one tries for the big money, it makes all Indie Developers look bad... That's not too say some Indie Projects aren't worth it, of course they are, but when it's just a Graphic Remake of a Text Based Game, there's nothing original here...
You're not worth 30 bucks, accept it and drop your price... Think Quantity... Selling a game for 30 bucks and you sell to 100 people, Yea you made 3 grand, but sell a game for 10 or 15 bucks and sell to 500 people and you've made much more...
And the fact that this is purely a download, there is no overhead of Discs and Cases to worry about... Just keep the electricity flowing to the Server so people can download it and it's all money in your pocket...
Don't be Greedy, be an Indie who thinks of the Players...
