The Night of the Rabbit

The voice acting is very ok. But there is way too much dialogue. The story is too often really lame. As an old gamer I'm probably not the audience, the story is for a (dumb) 6 year old ? But the puzzling part is sometimes hard to get around. Finished it as a chore with a walkthrough at hand. The game is slow, too many animations, back-and-forth and uninteresting monologues and cinematics... There are good and funny moments but... The sticky narrator : no interest. Didn't even look at the bonus stories. The time/place windows moment is fun. The "card game" = the seven families games with 4 cards by family against a computer ?! really !!? Seriously ?! Are we supposed to be 5 years old ...or four ? The amalgam between magic and prestidigitation is always a fatal error and an horrendous mistake, it should have raised a red flag... Ah and there is a very British atmosphere but in a bad mixture full of platitudes, banalities... 3.4

This game is pretty, pretty good

I basically played the whole adventure without understanding much, only to get to and overlong and undercooked sequence that provides an explanation of everything, whose graphic quality is draft at best. Something must have gone wrong during development.

The world is interesting, but story is lacklusting. A lot of puzzles are illogical, and the game does not really support trial and error, you have to bear with the repeating and very long dialogues again and again. For the better half of it I used a walkthrough to get by, and most of the puzzles had a solution that even after knowing the solution I said "how the hell should I knew that?". The card minigame is completely optional, but somehow enjoyable if you had no previous experience with Go Fish. Very similar to caravan in Fallout NV, but a lot bigger part of the game. Even so, the game has a very good amount of content, and the visuals are all really nice. 13 hours of gameplay makes the price worthy. Spoiler-free tip: unlike most other point'n'click games, the some items are really designed to sit in your inventory for quite while. If you get stucked, try to use your newly gathered items and the spells first, it is rare you have to use an old item for going forward.

Truly great story and adventurous world.
